Shrieking Discard

Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (15 cards)

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

Punish your opponent for having cards! Discard them almost every turn and hurt them while doing it!

How to Play

First turn is very important, you either want to drop shrieking affliction or duress them. Duress can hit any sorcery, instant, enchantment, and planeswalker. Getting guttersnipe or shrieking affliction out early can really speed up the game also. Every time you discard them with guttersnipe on the field that is 2 damage they are taking, and on their turn that is 3 life they lose from having 1 or less cards! Abrupt decay, searing spear and liliana are really just there to help you control the field. Also! Only play one shrieking affliction at a time, otherwise a detention sphere can ruin your day.

The sideboard however is for every control decks that side in numerous ways to stop you from discarding. Why not do a complete 360 and go full aggro? Side out all of your discard and the guttersnipes and put in the whole sideboard to really screw with your opponent, haha!

Animate cards? Have you thought of unbarrial right for the side board? It might help against a mass board wipe. Also rest in peace is going to kill the deathrite shammy. I like the idea of the deck of using the persons hand agianst them. Sphinx's revolation should watch out for this deck lol

Thanks! I never thought about board wipes. Instead of the strangleroot and the abrupt decay in my sideboard I should put 3 Falkenrath Aristocrats for the indestructibility. Assuming they use supreme verdict.

I agree with you on that. I think you should keep in mind that against control you are on the weak end. Use your side board for the other kind of decks like control and agro.

I like it, well rounded, seems to be a good way to make them stop using cards. I overall like the deck idea. Nice job! :)

Thanks a lot! I play tested it against my 4 color control deck and it beat it flat out. I just need to go against an aggro deck to see how that works.

Nice deck, really shuts down the opponents combos, but I recomend switching mind rot for hymm to torach, not sure if I spelled that right though.
Hymm is a two black mana card that says target play discards two cards at random, I love it

This is a groovy deck, I like it alot. And the fact you can flip it to a cheap aggro deck at a whim makes it really dynamic and an easy contender with quick Rakdos decks.

My inspiration was "whats the silliest standard deck I can make?" Then it turned out to be pretty awesome lol.

Distress isn't standard anymore sadly :/ Maybe swap it for Appetite for Brains possibly, or add more of other cards.

Also i have two very similar decks, you should check them out if you get the chance :)
Most similar to this one: http://www.mtgvault.com/drespar/decks/discard-affliction-br-control/
Using Descent into madness to wipe EVERYTHING from their board: http://www.mtgvault.com/drespar/decks/goblin-asylum/

Comment and like if you enjoy them :D

Glad you commented, I realized this morning that it wasn't standard legal this morning so I did put 4 appetite for brains since the meta at my local game store has tons of people playing thragtusk and thundermaw hellkite. And I did think about descent into madness also, just need to figure out what to replace. Have some rep :D.
