Deck Description

Kamigawa Block have some pretty things, they are as obscure as they are beautiful.
And spirits had always occurred to me as one of the most mysterious race in any games/stories.

I read up on why the Kami are mad at the Kamigawa Mortals and felt that they were simply coming back to take what was theirs.

So I signed the Kamigawa spirits up for the AFAA - Angel of Flight Alabaster Army.

Let's see how this goes shall we??

How to Play

ARTIFACT!

Before all the description begins~ I have to show you the key support to this deck.

Long-Forgotten Gohei - 3 drop that will make your Arcane Instant/Sorceries cost 1 less! While boosting your Spirits with +1/+1!

INSTANTS!!

Splicing onto Arcane is FUN! (only 2 splices here)

Blessed Breath - Awesome 1 drop that could be spliced if you wanna. Protection = Unblockable in some cases. it can mean hexproof too! (Shroud actually)

Kodama's Might - 1 drop that splices for 1. Target creature gets +2/+2, SURPRISE! Ready to Splice again.

NOTE THAT YOU CAN'T MULTI-SPLICE a card that allows Splice onto Arcane.

Otherworldly Journey - It's like flicker, but weirder... it saves your creature just like how flicker would, can be used for an evade-block. Then it comes back with a +1/+1 counter! CHEERS!

Rending Vines - Tricky card to play... jeez, but good if strategized. 3 drop to destroy an Artifact or Enchantment that has CMC equal or lesser than cards in your hand... DRAW A CARD :)

CREATURES

THE WESTERN!

Angel of Flight Alabaster - She's so pretty, 5 drop. She keeps bringing back spirits from your graveyard to your hand per upkeep (your upkeep).

Carven Caryatid - Use her to block! 3 drop. Defender 2/5, enters the field, you draw a card. Use her to block or use Martyred Rusalka's ability to abuse this poor defender. Since AFA will bring her back anyway.

Martyred Musalka - Such sad flavor text... 1 drop for a cute little girl! {W}: Sacrifice a creature, target creature can't attack this turn. Good for stalling OR preventing taunts (sometimes Green/Black cards will say 'opponent's creatures attack if able' and scenarios like this usually end up nasty. Like real nasty.

THE EASTERN!

Briarknit Kami - As you spend your mana for other causes, Briarknit is knitting +1/+1 counters onto your creatures one by one! How thoughtful! 5 drop.

Kodama of the Center Tree - In a Green/White deck, unity is strength I believe. So here is one of those who totally love parties and nights out. Meet the Center Tree! (It has Soulshift, and it's Soulshift cost is X. Soulshift = when it dies, search your graveyard for a spirit with mana cost X or lesser and put it in your hand). It even remembered to bring back your lost puppies!!

Kodama of the South Tree - Need some morale? Need some punching force? The Tree is here to settle that training session for all your spirits! (Only until end of turn). For each spirit/arcane spell you cast this turn, all your creatures get +1/+1 and trample. YEAH!

Loam Dweller - 2 drop for a 2/2, pretty decent. Whenever you cast an arcane/spirit spell, you may put a land to the field TAPPED. Oh, so that's where all the lands go... Damn those moonfolks.

Petalmane Baku - What a cute little arrangement of flowers. 2 drop that accumulates Ki counters whenever you put play an arcane/spirit spell. You may pay a measly amount of 1 colourless mana to active its ability! Removing X Ki counters on this little bush and it will sprout X mana of any colour. HOW ADORABLE.

Waxmane Baku - Not so adorable since it's all candles. 3 drop instead. Has the same effect as its Green Friend. But its Pay {1} to remove X Ki Counter is not mana ramping BUT, tapping X target creatures. Good Staller.

Deck discussion for East Meets West

I always did love the Kamigawa flavor and this looks like an interesting take on Spirits. Have you considered Spectral Procession?

Hey thanks! :)

Hmm, Perhaps Not >.< Since I wanna make sure everything except for AFA is has Spirit or Arcane in their subtype :)

Martyred Rusalka really completes the deck haha. She lets AFA work her magic.

I like your style. I make budget decks too. You should try your hand at my challenge: http://mtgvault.com/1111222334/decks/nothing-but-commons-challenge/

Ooooh oooh!
Hey there guy with many numbers in name haha (I see what you did there)

I'm aware of that format :) Pauper was it?
I'll give it a shot soon, but my last code of construct is Flavor, which is why I'm afraid that Common cards alone will hinder flavor.
That might not be true since I've not tried it haha.
Good to know that there are budget players out there! :D

Haha, now I feel stupid. I had never heard of the Pauper format (I'm new to the game).

Replace those Martyred Rusalkas with a Niblis of the Mist. It's the same thing essentially, but instead the target creature is TAPPED and doesn't untap next untap step. Also, it's a 2/2 with flying. And that's all for 2 MORE MANA.

Hmm, Niblis have it less flexible I must say. I went for the Rusalka mostly for her Sacrificing ability so that AFA can salvage my fallen Caryatid for another 1 draw the next turn. Rusalka kinda recycles my spirit creatures along with AFA to maximize the 'When you play a spirit or arcane spell' Effect.

@1111222334; Aww Gee! Don't say that! :)
I'm done with the deck, as in the cards, I'll test it a little and do some fine tuning.

What about Oyobi, who slipt the heavens? It also works well with the Rusalka.
