Deck Description

Before you guys tell me the deck is too big and I need more copies of this and that, take into consideration that I only play 3-5 player free for all and I only play for fun. I'm not trying to win worlds with this. I like having 70 cards as opposed to 60. The deck feels thin and empty to me otherwise. With 70, I feel confident and prepared, mostly because I have been decked before by Howling Mine in a long free for all game when using a 60 card deck.

Moving on... This deck used to include white for Transcendence + Inner Sanctum, but I felt it was too busy and decided to scrap the white. I added Blade of the Bloodchief, Deathbringer, and Mana Cache after game where my shooters couldn't untap (yikes), but Upwelling was out. I took control of every creature on the board with Soul Collector and Thornbite Staff before my friend blew up Upwelling and mana burned everyone but me to death.

That being said, abuse the living piss out of Death Pits of Rath. Card synergy includes:
Thornbite Staff + Soul Collector
Kusari Gama + Butcher Orgg
Scythe of the Wretched + Scalding Salamander.

Deck discussion for Death Pits of Fun

i think this will work really well. but i think it should be a little better with more first strike, so maybe un-scythe killer of kings

you are missing the easiest cards to abuse with this. Pyroclasm, pestilence, pyrohemia, and others like these. You should also cut the deck down to 60 and have an answer to indestructible and the like.

Unscythe requires color splash, and this deck need to be quicker than that. I'll look into it, though. My answer to not having first strike is Scalding Salamander. The ability goes off as an instant, everything dies, attackers hit.

This is a creature based deck. The cards you listed would destroy me.

Why suggest I take cards out and add another mechanic? I can take every other creature they have out. One or two guys don't scare me.

well I offer advice for enchantments because it's not another mechanic, it's just better then what you have. Enchantment = one card. Creature + equipment = unnecessary 2 cards. Why are you giving your opponents mana with mana cache anyways? I just don't understand why you don't consider better options for your decks.

Creatures give me a way to win the game is Death Pits gets taken out. This is a creature based deck. Why kill my own creatures in a creature based deck? Why not use creatures that can still kick ass if I don't have my enchantments or equipment? Butcher Orgg + Kusari-Gama + another creature being blocked = lots of damage to all of their creatures. Not useless.
