Deck Description

I know a million people have made Kaervek's Spite + Barren Glory decks. This is just my take on it, and if you don't like it, I'm sorry.

There are two ways to win, the easiest being Academy Rector + Kaervek's Spite to get Barren Glory out. If that doesn't work, plan B is to get out Barren Glory the old fashioned way, play Oblivion Ring, THEN play Kaervek's Spite.

Solid deck - although I'd recommend swapping out Pariah's Shield for regular old Pariah. That way you can be preventing all damage done to you on turn 5 instead of 6.

you dont need to o ring barren glory just so you know. You cast barren then when it is on the stack you can cast kaervik then win next upkeep. I am assuming you don't want to give them a chance to get rid of it. When they do though you are going to automatically lose. Barren is too risky to play.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I would swap for Pariah, but Pariah's Shield doesn't award a 2 for 1. I'd rather wait one more turn and keep a card when Cho-Manno gets dropped. I have more time in free for all. If the extra turn is a problem, I'll definitely switch it out, though.

Sure I can cast Kaervek's while Barren Glory is on the stack, but I need 9 mana and I'd be completely open. For the same 9 mana, I can protect Glory with Oblivion Ring and keep my defenders and lands until the last second before the win. Sure Barren Glory is risky. That's why it's fun.

I have them both, but I really don't think paying life is going to help me when I'm trying to stall.

What about a silence or two? Your deck seems pretty wide open in the begining. At least in the sideboard because against burn and what not, holy day won't be worth crap. Also, holy day is your only one mana card, what would you do on the rest of your turns? What i'm trying to say is that a lot of your cards cost around four mana and without any mana ramping that will leave you wide open during some turns. One more thing is that Uncle Istavan is heavy black, which may not be a problem (i'm not really sure) but just be careful of that in a deck that seems to be more heavy on the white. Good Ideas and I like the deck

I can agree with that. I'll look into some lower costing cards.
