Deck Description

A long time ago I remember being very impressed with the "Open the Vault" deck, which basically cycled tons of artifacts before going for the killing blow with Open the Vault, which brings every artifact back to the battlefield.

Seeing Liliana, Death Wielder's ultimate ability, I was reminded of this deck and decided to try to do this with a mono-black, Liliana-themed deck. This is my attempt.

The idea is to discard or cycle all my powerful creatures into the graveyard before getting them out again for free in one go, "Open the Vault" style. All other cards are there to keep me alive until I'm able to do so.

(Note: Sideboard isn't finished yet)

How to Play

The endgame consists of activating Lili's Death Wielder ultimate ability. The idea is to discard or cycle all my powerful creatures into the graveyard before getting them out again for free in one go, "Open the Vault" style.

I've added the other two Lilianas to level the playing field before playing Death Wielder, to either destroy all creatures or build a small army of zombies. Worst case scenario, it will provide a nice target for the opponent (instead of my own life total).

Liliana's Indignation should help get some more creatures into the graveyard, plus deal some nice blows to the opponent.

Rancid Rats is a nice bit of defense, and so are the Wasteland Scorpions (although they might also be more profitably cycles).

Deck discussion for Liliana's Rampage

Fatal Push mainboard is a must. You need to buy time until you can Ulti Liliana, so you need all the most efficient forms of removal that you can fit.

Speaking of removal, you're running 6 Walkers, so Oath of Liliana could be a good Edict effect, especially since it gives you a zombie blocker to defend the Liliana you play.

Collective Brutality can help discarding your creatures.

You're really going to want to include Bontu's Last Reckoning (Hour of Devastation).

Thanks! And yeah I will definitely put Bontu's LR in, that's exactly the card I was looking for! I'm thinking of getting rid of the other Lilianas (non- Death Wielder) though, I don't think they are really necessary in this deck anymore.
