Deck Description

A deck featuring the lovely Gideon Jura. This is intended to be Standard competitive, eventually.

I'm still not completely sold on Oust. It imposes card disadvantage, slowing the opponent, but I'd rather have one extra Jace -- especially versus Vampires. I'll probably convince myself to run Oust by tournament time, though.

The sideboard is currently "cards under consideration" rather than being a genuine sideboard.

I will appreciate your feedback.

Deck discussion for Jura Judo

first, a question, how would you kill your opponent? second an inspiration i had from your deck. gideon jura to hold off the opponent, and then near-death experience comboed with sustaining angel and enough cards to deal 19 damage to yourself and enough to have 2 mana per turn, and stalling creatures to play until you get jura out. i like the deck, its very direct which is always good, even with the lack of damaging cards.

btw i have made improvements on my eldrazi deck. my new deck is called "Eldrazi Improved" check it out and comment and thnx for the inspiration:)

If a 6/6 indestructible creature can't kill my opponent over several turns of lockdown while they have no creatures in play, then I *deserve* to lose the match. I'm relying on Gideon Jura's third ability, my shroud critters (so that my opponents' removal cards are dead cards), and lots and lots of creature removal.

My own thoughts -- my deck needs some card advantage, badly. I might try Mnemonic Wall, See Beyond, and maaaaaybe a single Shared Discovery.

This deck is particularly weak to All Is Dust, and to Polymorph. For additional counter, perhaps I could run Unified Will, but what I really want is a recursion engine. Mnemonic Wall is tremendous for that.

hey thanks for the comment on my green white aggro vengevine deck
i think im going to run a few paths, i just want it to be as zoo as possible and have similiar removal style to koros, so... about 4 removal spells, maybe 5.
path might be good because against control i can path my own guy for the landfall trigger to win
anyways,... enough about me:
i like this deck, it looks fun
id run some of the new jace and drop rest for the weary to the sideboard for going against aggro
i prefer kor firewalker to the outlander, and ur mana should support it
speaking of which,
i highly doubt u will get a turn 4 land or 5 cuz ur only playing 18
i like the hindering light, i just dont know how many times they will have a spellll that targets u or a creature u own cuz ur creatures have shroud and pro red...
so its basically not going to be used enough unless they play like a lightning bolt at u or blightning

Several good points that have borne out in testing. I plan to complement Hindering Light with Unified Will, swap out the outlanders, and sideboard rest for the weary.

Hindering Light protects Gideon Jura from getting Pathed while a creature, but more importantly, it protects me from Blightning.
