Deck Description

An idea I had from other decks I've seen use Descendants' Path. A lot of the, however, don't use it with Call to the Kindred, so I'm trying to make it work.

Amulet of Vigor stops those pesky "comes into play tapped lands" from tapping so I can use what I need faster.

Using blue for early control to stall until I can get what I need out.

I'd like to keep this "Modern". I know... I'm using Cloudposts. Basically, I'll use anything 8th edition and up.

Comment please!

Deck discussion for Call the Descendant Eldrazi

I would personally drop the It That Betrays and throw in a Kozilek, Butcher of Truth.

The main problem with this deck is that you do not have enough low drop Eldrazi to trigger Descendant's Path/Call to the Kindred. Take out some of the less remarkable Eldrazi and put in Kozileck's Predator. Investing in draw power would also be incredibly beneficial (Ponder being one of the best in my opinion) as it would allow you to get what you need faster.

The only other cards I can think of that would help trigger Descendant's Path/Call to the Kindred is Awakening Zone and Growth Spasm, although you need to throw in some basic lands for them and maybe drop the Amulet of Vigor and Expedition Map.

I have It That Betrays in there because I have it and not Kozilek. What advantage does Kozilek have over It That Betrays?

Should I just go one color or do you think two could work? I think it could, but you're right, I need some lower costing Eldrazi.

Ah, if you don't have him then don't worry, he's expensive money wise. The benefits would have been costing two mana less, Annihilator 4, being a 12/12, and drawing four cards when you cast him.

Two should work, although you should probably focus on either ramping for mana or triggering your DP/CttK. Personally, I think you should try the latter because the former has been done to death.

Look into "Changelings". Any changeling is literally any creature type. Changeling + Descendants' Path/Call to the Kindred is an AMAZING combo in any deck. There are a few changelings that make other changelings copy target creatures on the battle field. This means you can use those changelings and turn everything on the battle field into 4 or 5 super huge eldrazi's. Can't go wrong with that. You also could turn them into eldrazi spawn for whatever reason.

I like the deck! very neat! Good luck!

Yeah, I thought about Changelings because, as you said, they can go into any tribal deck. I thought the Nest Invader would be better because it produces the spawn, which is free mana. But, I should probably decide whether I want to try to hard cast the Eldrazi or rely on the enchantments. That's the reason why I put the Cloudpost and Urza lands in. I'll try to focus it a bit more.

Thanks for the advice.

When you mentioned the lands it reminded me of a few eldrazi lands that i forgot to mention before. Take a look at "Eye of Ugin", and "Eldrazi Temple". Both of those lands are quite nice for the big guys. Another something I had thought of was cards with the ability to "Scry". That ability would be WONDERFUL for those enchantments. So a few ideas might be "Mystic Speculation", "Serum Visions", "Preordain", and a couple I think would be absolutely Amazing, "Crystal Ball", and "Cryptic Annelid". Those last 2 cards would be just unbelievable. They would almost indefinitely allow you to put out a creature with your enchantments every turn.

a few other ideas that came to mind were, (an older card, and i'm not super familiar with it's legality.) "Diabolic Vision" wrong colors though. "Brainstorm", "Scroll Rack", "Sylvan Library", "Telling Time", and "Dream Cache". Those could work wonders in getting giant rocks out of your hand so that the enchantments can cast them.
