Deck Description

Scotty's next standard deck. This time, black with a splash of green.

This deck uses a lot of sacrificing and necromancy. Birthing Pod makes it fun and easy to get those bigger creatures out fast with little to no mana. I usually sacrifice a Perilous Myr or a Black Cat to snatch a Glissa or Geralf's Messenger. Then, I may sacrifice one of them to get my Phyrexian Obliterator. The list goes on!

Mimic vat let's me bring out a Skinrender or Geralf's Messenger every turn to cause a good amount of havoc. If it goes into late game, I can always mimic the Massacre Wurm.

Undying Evil is in to bring back my creatures I sacrifice.

Good times!

For side board:

More control in case my opponent's creatures get out of hand. Corrosive Gale for Spirit or Delver decks. Autumn's Veil for black or blue control decks.

Let me know what you think!

Deck discussion for Standard Birthing Pod

I've been running a similar deck and come to find that I rarely played Undying Evil. Especially if you have access to a Mikaeus, the Unhallowed. Takes care of your undying needs. What are you using for your 5 CMC creatures? Bloodgift Demon and Acidic Slime are solid in that spot. Slime is also strong in Vat. Bitterheart Witch with Curse of Death's Hold single in deck is great Pod fodder. I found first few times I played, the GB was supsectible to flyers and no removal in the 3 CMC spot. Enter Daybreak Ranger. Hope this helps.

I would splash into red just for bitterheart witch + curse of Bloodletting + inferno titan = 6 dmg at first time it comes to play, and with your mimic vat, you can also pay 3 and do 24 dmg (12 direct, 12 blockable) if you get to that late game.
Also, dont think you need 4x of each creature, since you will dig for them with your pod, So you can put some acid slime, and other creatures like Mikaeus to get some more flexibility to situations with ur deck.

Give us some reports if you test it.

Interesting thoughts.

Regions: I've actually used Undying Evil quite a bit. I've found it very useful if someone tries to Go For the Throat, Black Sun's Zenith, etc. It's very good with the creatures that enter the battlefield effects. Also, you've pointed out something very important: I have no 5 CMC creatures. I like the idea of the Bitterheart Witch and throwing in a curse or two. Thank you. :)

Guiherme: You may be onto something with throwing in red... A Mimicked Titan would be glorious... Also with the curses... good times.... Thank you for your suggestions, too.

I do, however, want to keep it to two colors maximum. I love the idea of Acidic Slime. But, red may prove to be more useful.

Any other suggestions from anyone?
