Deck Description

I've posted my vampire deck before, but considering that it has gone through major pumps into it, I wanted to re-post it to get onto the front page and get more looks. I put some hard work into this deck since its creation and is my pride and joy, which is why it has actually seen the most work into it out of any deck I've physically ever made.

Deck discussion for My Vampires

I believe I have an answer to my own problem of going up against human decks using R/B vampires. Considering Mirran Crusader still being in standard, he is a big pain in the ass. So I got an idea of the unthinkable: Splash white into the sideboard. The way to make this work too, is to have duo lands that Innistrad has even given. You get Isolated Chapel keeping your black mana, but adding in the necessary white for the splash. Then 2 of Clifftop Retreat to keep your red and add in an extra white resource. There you have 6 sources of white mana to switch in when need be. It's exactly this: fire against fire. The spells chosen for the sideboard as this 'white splash' are even versatile when going up against any number of decks this one has issues with. You get the Oblivion Rings to exile the biggest worries that your vampires seem to have, plus: No white creatures added, so you keep your R/B vampire theme, just adding in a defensive white to the mix for something new. Then the urgent exorcism is thrown in for when your dependable creatures get Oblivion ringed as well, or your opponent has enchantments you do not like. Plus it acts as a creature removal as well incase you need it against spirits. Someone's running a spirit-based deck and has enchantments you hate, toss in the urgent exorcisms. Can be used for ridding the board of either.

im curious how this plays for you. when you add your white sideboard it gives you a possible of 6 white lands. so you have a 10% chance of drawing the land you need then one of your 6 white cards another 10%. and two of those whites need two white mana to play. it seems like the odds of getting the cards you need together is extremely low. plus if like you said you using this against humans then oblivion ring could easily be replaced with black removal. the cost benefit seems off as it more often then not leads to you getting dead draws, lowers your odds of getting your primary mana and doesnt seem to be significantly better than the black alternative.
