I'm seeing if i can make myself a decent modern deck in a low budget and rats caught my eye. Suggestions very much appreciated. I'm sure when you have a look here at my decklist you have an idea at what I'm going for: Reduce their handsize (hopefully to 0) and once it's there, a great combo is to grab a chittering rat with ratcatcher, set it out on the field, sac it to marrow-gnawer, exile it with mimic vat and there you have your opponent consistently stuck to the same card the rest of the game (if it costs too much for them too cast that is due to your thinning of their land in breaking down their hand and library.) EDIT: Dropped the vat for a second door of destinies.
