One issue with the planeswalkers though is it will push your mana curve up.

Hmm im looking at this and seeing that you dont really have anything that hits table and people have a hard time answering. So maybe another form of gideon (gideon jara or ally of zendikar) but you would run the risk of having kytheon flipped then having to choose which stays, so maybe an elspeth? Either elspeth tirel or maybe elspeth knight-errant?
I would take out the 2x mardu woe-reapers and the 2x icatian javelineers and put in 2x boros elite and 2x consul's lieutenant
I had them in when i first started to play it but after going through multiple matches i felt like they just didnt fit aswell as i first thought they would.
