Deck discussion for Bloodlust

Nice, the blasphemous acts could definitely screw you up though if your opponents running reckoners (or stuffy dolls). even then I really like the deck. good job.

That's a good point - this deck needs some sort of mass removal, though. I might look at Divine Reckoning as an alternative, at least as a sideboard.

You should run Bonfire of the Damned instead of Blasphemous Act so you don't hit your own creatures. I think you should add more Godless Shrines and Sacred Foundrys so you can consistently cast Doomed Traveler turn 1. So far you only have 6 lands that can tap for white turn 1. Maybe take out 2 or 3 Swamps for them.

Disciple of Bolas and Desecration Demon seem like you're weakest cards, the demon because he's not likely to attack or block, even if they have to sac a creature. Disciple because most of the cards you would want to sac would be tiny and worth more on the board were they can attack than if you draw 2 or so cards.

I think you should also add at least 1 Skirsdag High Priest, and 1 Cartel Aristocrat. An interesting card to consider would be Ajani: He's for 3 mana so he'd come out quick, his +1 makes your creatures bigger so they can both block and live but also if you keep the Disciples you would draw more cards, and his -2 can giving Falkenrath Aristocrat or the demons from Skirsdag doublestrike would be devastating. I think it would fit well if you could get the mana base right. If you do I wouldn't have more than 2 though.
Hope this gives you some fun ideas!

A lot of good points - of course, with the mana base, the challenge is always money. But I think you're right. This deck needs more turn 1 white mana sources for the Doomed Traveler. Thanks for pointing it out - I hadn't noticed that. I'll probably be playing with this idea a bit more over the next few days. Getting the mana base right is going to be the most difficult thing.

I've actually thought about dropping Disciple of Bolas. When it works, it really works - I like using it to blow up a buffed Bloodthrone Vampire, but I may consider dropping it... the CMC on it is a bit high. I love Desecration Demons though... that one is tough for me to pull, especially in a deck like this that thrives off of sacrifice. But you may be right - I'm sure I'll test it with a few different combinations. If I was to pull the Desecration Demons, I might add another Skirsdag High Priest to compensate.

Ajani is an interesting idea I might have to try. I could see its -3 ability on a buffed Bloodthrone Vampire ending games out of nowhere right when he hits the field. There's a lot of potential there.
