My attempt at a standard Esper control deck any thoughts would greatly help as it's just a rough draft

Deck discussion for Esper Control Standard

Although this is a great idea on paper, but i hate to break it to you GrimGrim needs to sac each time you want to untap him. I believe. Because of the wording of the card read it close. He is a great creature control but you can use black sun or go for the throat for that any day. Furthermore, your mana curve maybe low but 20 mana in a control deck try running 24 to 26.

Hope this helps!

My whole point of Grim Grin was to have some kind of end game. Even with the control I got or Black sun I have no win condition which bothers me. I'm not sure about the ruling on his untap I thought it was just when he enters the battlefield. I may throw black sun into side though really good idea can't believe I forgot it.

gringrim doesnt untap unless you sac or by some other means untap him (like deciever excarh or Vedalken Anatomist)

if you still want some heavy hitter, grave, frost or sun titan are all solid beaters with their own flavor...

grave titan - brings his own army
frost titan - taps permanents and keeps them tap'd for a turn (which is freaking annoying if your sitting on the other side of the table)
sun titan - brings back all your 3 cmc permanents, creatures aswell as enchantments (dead weight)

hmm I was kinda thinking of titans can't remember why I didn't. Eh was probably something about actual cost or something. Regardless I think I'll probably throw grave titan into side and main sun titan. Probably will also trade out a few inquisitors for pacifism or o ring. Thanks again.

Don't you think it's a bit high cost for this deck?

Idead weight isn't a bad card at all if you run it with sun Titan I can have them keep bouncing back to me which you can't do with doom blade. Also doom blade doesn't work on black cards I'd rather sideboard it than main.

if your not going to main sun titan then i think maining go for the throats would be a better idea

I'm still debating on which titan it going to be main. This is basically just a set up of the cards I will throw in however. I will most likely scrap the blue and add more white control. I am starting to get too much of a mill feel for the deck and I hate playing mill.

well if you take out some of the mill stuff and add draw power like forbiden alchemy then blue will continue to help you also the counters are always good

Deathtouch has always been good in control for me. Why would I run assassin when I'm not running cards that control my opponents tap and take full advantage of his ability?

Also they are cheap and a good for buying time for some of my other spells.
