Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (0 cards)

No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

Whole deck revolves around Vedalken Archmage, 0 casting cost artifacts and Steel overseer. Lotus petals, sol ring, and mana vault get Vedalken out FAST then you just start casting artifacts and keep drawing more. Use Mana severance to remove unwanted lands after you get 4 in play. By removing land i'm sure to draw more 0 casting cost artifacts to keep the cycle going. Then you pump up all your creatures to HUGE with Steel overseers. Here's the awesome part...they're all regeneratable with Jhoira's toolbox!!

I still haven't had one comment about this deck and I'm surprised, this deck kicks elven arse!!!

Deck discussion for The Power of Steel

What do you do if you don't draw an Archmage, or against burn?

I'd be tempted to maindeck the Counterspells, and maybe use Thoughtcast. Or Skullclamp!

First, Thanks for the comment Aneximines!! Sorry it took so long for me to get back to you, I've started a new workout routine that's kept me away from the computer. :)

Direct damage is always a concern that's why I started this deck with Robe of Mirrors to protect the Vedalken Archmage and the Steel Overseer, but I ended up taking them out because they didn't really get used that much. Many times, I'll wait for someone playing red to tap out before casting Vedalken (if I know its a direct damage deck) then I'll cast all the 0 casting cost arties i've been storing in my hand and draw a crap load of cards.
More often then not, this is all I need to get my deck underway. I'll usually draw another Vedalken, Steel Overseer, or Mana Severance. Mana serverance is HUGE in this deck, once I use it and clean out all my lands everything I draw after that is usable. At that time they may focus on the Vedalken, but that's to their demise because now they've given my Steel Overseer and Voltaic Key the ability to pump up ALL the arties, often times higher that the direct damage. Even if it isn't, it's too late because all my creatures already have their counters on them and I most likely have more steels or Vedalkens in my hand and ALWAYS more creatures than my opponent.
If I don't draw an archmage, I'll usually draw the Manaseverance or the Steel Overseer, and the Mana severance as I described above helps everything I draw work for me. Don't forget Clones to get more duplicates of either of those cards too, There have been many times I had 2 Vedalkens out drawing 2 cards every time I cast an arty!!

What I noticed is the more casting cost items I had in the deck the more it slowed it down and prevented me from getting out the cards I needed. I've gotten Master of Etherium out numerous times and he's Ridiculous with all the 0 casting cost arties I can play.

FYI... I'm normally a group game player, when I cast the first artifact from this deck the entire group starts to focus on me and I've lost only once so far!!

Here's my challenge to everyone: Build this as a proxy deck if you don't have all the cards and try it out against all your decks. Let me know what you think!!
