Deck Description

I am playing a lot of multiplayer recently and I am noticing that my decks that are good in 1v1 are not so awesome in multiplayer magic. I want to build this deck so I can be tyrannical (: This deck is about getting maximum value out of having more than one opponent; essentially the idea is to make fighting 3 people feel like fighting just one. Inspired by all the other multiplayer mono blacks out there

How to Play

Keep the board clear of creatures to keep things mild until you ramp up into deadly X-costed spells to drain tons of life.

Turn 1 you can either lay down a Sol Ring and get right to ramping or even better, Dark Ritual into a sol ring and Unnerve turn 1, or just Dark Ritual into a Pox to crank down the clock right away.

Damnation and Tyrant's choice keeps creatures away, along with sometimes the Drain Lifes.

After you get your ramp on with Urborg and Cabal Coffers, Drain Life and Exsanguinate command each player's life total. Diabolic Revelation is here to give you a full restock when you're out of ammo.

Any tips on my deck, ways to strengthen it and make the deck smoother, please leave a comment on what you think.

Deck discussion for Multiplayer B

You seem to have a disturbing lack of defense early game. May I suggest you splash white? You can get more survivability through going an extort route. You can still run Cabal Coffers and Urborg combo. But you can get some low drop creatures, maybe some regen or something, but easily extort everybody each turn with just 1 extra mana. If your doing a minimum of 3 player FFA then that's at least 2 life per extort.

Right. The idea with multiplayer is that you aren't the only target, which means you have plenty of time to build up and even take damage because when you have enough mana for exsanguinate or drain life, you are gaining the life right back anyways. I might add as well that this deck is only intended for 4 player games.

In my play group no defense in a FFA meant everybody sensed weakness and killed it. Especially with a deck like this.

Haha that seems rude! My play group is almost the opposite... if someone is stalling out or just not building anything up, we usually leave them alone and target the biggest threat, or just try to equalize the board.

I play a lot of multiplayer as well, and I try to build my decks to survive there as much as possible. Some are even multiplayer only, like my extort/constellation deck; although it does OK in duels as well.

Either way, I've got a multiplayer only mono black discard deck that works gréat! It's loads of fun to play and véry aggravating to your opponent :-) Added bonuses: no creatures ànd it's 10 times as cheap as this deck! :-)
Might not be what you're looking for, but check it out maybe?
