Deck discussion for Sharing is Caring

This deck is very intersting with a few win cons..

You ever find that black artifact card that i could use Donate on, for my deck?

I have lost myself to the old Donate/Grandeur deck. Very mean stuff. And you, my friend, just took it up a notch.

You do have a lot going on here. All good. You using Donate/Grandeur is just one win condition. You are using stuff like Bazaar Trader and Puca's Mischief to trade your creatures like Steel Golem, Bronze Bombshell, Rust Elemental. You give to them creatures that hurt them and you take from them their creatures that will also hurt them.

I very much like the design.

Thought Lash would work in this deck. It is slow, but it would work. Cards I am not feeling: Would add in Fog Bank and take out Hover Barrier.

Also, I like running 4 copies of Donate: Grandeur, and Steel Golem in this deck. Would suggest taking out Jinxed Idol for some of those cards.

Really digging this deck!

Thanks for your comments, i was thinking of adding more donates and more steel golems maybe adding another golem taking out 1 idol, if you have another suggestions for cards to make this better id really like that:)

Thought of doing a blue/black deck with Donate? Your deck has given me ideas! Run Donates. Grandeurs. Abyssal Persecutor. Colfenor's Plans. Nefarious Lich. Will send a link after I build it! Give me pointers!

Tamanoa+gates+cracking Perimeter+Searing mediation+plus a few more life gain cards in a deck, good idea or bad idea to make

0

Searing mediation is great card, Tamanoa is good for going against a burn deck but if your not its simply a 2/4 for 3 which isnt to shabby either. Strictly white is the best life gain. hope i helped

Since you can give other players lands as well, perhaps Ancient Tomb and Glacial Chasm could have some fun in this deck. Or even the Fetch Lands if you sideboard some that other decks couldn't use. Such as against a mono black stick in the fetches that find anything but a swamp.

That is true i looked into that aswell, ill take a closer look into it:). As of now, my creatures do the trick in doing damage for a different win con, but the land idea is tricky ill look into it! thank you!

Yeah, and i play alot of 4v4 2v2 and so fourth, and im sure this will kick ass in that kind of format aswell as 1v1. looking forward to playing it:)

What about topor Orb ? I started a idea just need the fillers , for what i talk about earier http://www.mtgvault.com/dragon77/decks/meditation-of-tamanoa/

0

Torpor Orb is good for decks that have creatures that give things to the opponent, therefore canceling that effect.

0
Posted 17 December 2013 at 00:19

Well don't play it till you give them the creature, then they can't give it back and it only when it enter so bombshell still works and such, i use a deck with endless whispers and eater of days and leveler and such its quite fun with torpor orb, then use the land that i sac a land to destroy the orb, so if a creature dies of mine lol

0
Posted 17 December 2013 at 01:00

Well, once an opponent has control of bombshell there is really no way to give him back unless i go up against someone that can give him back, and i havent seen many decks that can do that, but if you mean something else then im probably wrong haha

0
Posted 17 December 2013 at 01:03

bombshell happens right away when it goes to someone, i was refering to the idol and such..lol, great deck though, but torpor there isnt enough for it yet in this deck

Oh Okay, Idol im not to worried about it i have it for lets say a turn or even 2? because of the life gain i will have from the amazing Zedruu. But thank you for the comments and compliments:)

I love this concept. always wanted to make a donate deck, because of cards like bronze bombshell and steel golem. the board control that you can have is staggering. only problem I see here is a lack of defense, which in reality is made up for with a strong offense. so all in all, great deck. :) I did build a bazaar trader deck, but it is way different than this. :)

0

Yeah i dont have MUCH defense, but i suppose you can say Negate is along with my walls:P

0

true. gotta love negate. :) and those are great walls. really hard to kill either of them, and the price is fantastic at 1WU and 1U to cast.

Yeah and + i have the life gain from the all mighty Zedruu alls i have to do is basically not die turn 3 and i should be in complete control:)

0

however you do need to be careful about drawing yourself to death with Zedruu.

possible, but unlikely unless you get out your enchantments. having out the rust elemental almost works against the other creatures you could give, seeing as how it allows for your opponent to get rid of them, and bombshell is only a single chunk of health anyways. so unless you get multiples VERY quickly... you aren't going to be doing much damage. also, transcendence hinders you more than it helps as long as you have Zedruu out, because you will be gaining a life fairly quickly. although I really like your use of illusion of grandeur as a killing card, what an embarrassing way to die. Lol... :)

regardless... this looks like a very fun deck to play with. :) this I why I love this game. I never would have thought to build a deck like this. my bazaar trader deck is so much different than yours, but they both work really well. :)

0
Posted 19 December 2013 at 10:49

Yeah Rust Elemental and Bronze bombshell are good quick damage cards, and with Zedruu out i will always be drawing more of them which is always nice

0
Posted 19 December 2013 at 18:16

I have never seen rust elemental bevore. thanks, that can also go in my version of the deck. but yours is better. only reason why i dont have it is becous i am not allowed to spend money untill the end of the year. but how does this deck defend vs burn decks? I gues that is the weakspot of this deck?
if you have the time take a look at my new deck.

I mean yes burn is always going to cause issues for most decks, unless they plan on burning their own creatures that i give them..? then thats their choice but once i get illusions of Granduer + transcendence out to them its game..and i will check yours out:) hopefully i explained enough

What could hurt this deck is another control deck. It would be an interesting battle! They would of course try to bounce your stuff. Counter your spells. They would bring stuff like Quash to play against you. You play Donate and they Quash it, removing all copies of Donate from the game, and leaving you with a crappy card in play on your side (like Grandeur) that you now need to get rid of.

Another deck that could hurt this deck would be a black discard/control deck. First turn, swamp into a dark ritual, into a duress discarding your Donate, into a Surgical Extraction picking Donate. Their very first turn they would have all of your Donate cards removed from the game.

With all of that said, you have to love Soldier333s deck. It would be just extremely fun to play.

Final advice, my friend, run 4 Donate. And would think of cards that could return your Donate, from the graveyard, back to your hand. Idea would be, Donate, return to hand, Donate, return to hand, Donate. lol.

Archaeomancer maybe. Or Anarchist. Call to Mind is nice. Deja Vu.

Here is a question for everyone. You have THought Lash out. IT comes time to pay it's upkeep. But instead, you use Donate to give Thought Last to your opponent. Then you choose not to play it's upkeep. Does your opponent lose the game by having to exile their library?

0
Posted 19 December 2013 at 19:59

I dont think so, because you would give it to them during your turn, so then when it is their upkeep they have a chance to pay the cost of putting the top card of their library..hope that made sense? i could be wrong though but ill go 95%. :p

0
Posted 19 December 2013 at 20:04

I keep reading conflicting websites about it. Some say yes, some say no. One guy said when Thought Lash is in your control you choose not to pay it's upkeep cost THEN donate it to your opponent...and he can't decide to pay the upkeep or not because you already have. It doesn't sound like it would work to me either...

0
Posted 19 December 2013 at 20:26

The websites debate on rather Zedruu can do the same trick with Thought Lash.

If anything...Zedruu looks like it would work over donate...it being an instant and Donate being a sorcery.

Will do more research. It is split about 50/50 on rather or not you can pull off the Thought Lash victory.

I think it could work in a pure burn deck too. I mean, by turn 4 or 5 you are out of cards anyways, and are top decking. Might as well get more bang for your buck.
