Deck Description

(Summoner's Pact and Tooth and Nail are virtual copies of my creatures, allowing me to run more than 4 of each one, and Primeval Titan just does silly things with all the lands). The recent addition of Glittering Wish brings new meaning to the word toolbox. I now have ways to deal with pretty much anything in the main board, and my sideboard still addresses almost every type of deck that can give me a problem. I say it addresses almost everything, because I am sure there's something I haven't thought of, even though I tried to cover every situation that could possibly come up. Admittedly, there are a few cards that slip through the glittering wish package (hexproof/shroud for example) but I don't see it as a major concern.

The basic play of the deck is to mulligan until Amulet of Vigor (or some way to find it / Lotus Cobra instead) unless you have some way to have 5 mana or more out turn 2. You basically want to have a plan to have around 6 mana out by turn 3 when you look at your opening hand (or a bunch of various "mana dorks" that work well together). Then get a Primeval Titan out as fast as possible for even more mana (turn 3 usually). Once you cast the titan you can swing with it same turn (if you have an Amulet of Vigor out) after fetching Slayers' Stronghold and Boros Garrison , letting you grab even more lands. From there, the huge land toolbox will set up your future turns quite nicely, even if that titan was the only thing your hand had going for it.

The deck seems pretty solid right now, but I am always open to suggestions. Since my manabase is so flexible, I can splash anything, so don't hesitate to suggest something because it's off color; leave trying to fit it in to me. All suggestions are more than welcome (ESPECIALLY Glittering Wish targets!).

How to Play

Turn1: untapped land + Amulet of Vigor

Turn 2 (second amulet): tap land for another Amulet of Vigor , play a bounce land, untap twice and add 4 to mana pool. Play Azusa, Lost but Seeking (or Summer Bloom ), then play the bounce twice for 8 more mana (9 in pool now). You can also get lucky with an Ancient Stirrings and find another amulet (would then need Summer Bloom since Azusa, Lost but Seeking would leave you short on mana), there's a few variations.

Turn 2 (without second amulet): play a bounce land and float its mana before returning to hand, then play either Azusa, Lost but Seeking or Summer Bloom for more land drops. Then, play another Summer Bloom to produce the rest of the mana you need (sneak Lotus Cobra into play as early as possible too if you happen to have one).

Cast an entwined Tooth and Nail for 2 Primeval Titan getting Slayers' Stronghold + Boros Garrison and your second Slayers' Stronghold and Vesuva to copy the Boros Garrison . Use Slayers' Stronghold to give Primeval Titan haste and swing getting Sunhome, Fortress of the Legion and the lands to pay for it if that is enough for the kill. Alternatively, you can find Mosswort Bridge and some green bounce lands to return Vesuva and Mosswort Bridge to your hand for serious digging power as you look for the answers you might need. You can also fetch Simic Growth Chamber and Tolaria West to transmute for a Summoner's Pact which can become whatever creature you desire. Even if you don't kill them with the initial swing, you can almost guarantee your victory the next turn no matter how they respond.

Super interesting List. it looks pretty decent. Somethings stand out right away, like Lotus Cobra, the Coursers, the Wurm and Glittering Wish.

I have seen videos with Cobra in this deck and he can make a crazy amount of mana, but how are the Coursers? For 3 mana i'm not sure if they do enough to be worth while.

Glittering Wish could have potential, but your only running 3 targets for it, and they don't seem all that great. I guess Wheel can kill a deck, and so can Slaughter Games, but at that point, can't you just cast Hivemind/ Titan and go for the win, without diluting the deck for Glittering Wish? I see the potential there, but i'm not really sold on it.

I see almost every list running Golgari Rot Farm, but i don't see why. You don't actually need it to cast anything. Gemstone mine and Tendo are so good in this deck, i don't see the point in running Golgari Rot Farm as just another come into play tapped land.

Mosswort bridge is card i would never play in this deck. Its just too random, it could be good, but it could be a total flop also. I would rather just play Rainbow lands or more T-West in that slot.

Which brings me to my next point, and really the biggest issue i have with this list. is the lack of t-Wests. you're only running 1 which seems crazy to me. one of the best, and strongest aspects of the deck is the ability to chain a Titan into T-West and Bounce land, bounce T-West, and Transmute for Summoner's pact to set up another Titan next turn. That's something you're not gonna be able to take advantage of, which seems like a big mistake.

Your list looks good, and very well rounded though, and i'm sure it kicks ass! I hope you don't see this as bashing or something, just trying to give constructive criticism . >:D

Thanks for the comment, and i actually updated my sideboard with about 8 wish targets. ill update it soon, and Courser is actually really strong in this list, allowing me to filter through my lands topdeck instead of waiting to draw it next turn is very valuable, also the life gain is helpful.

Mosswort bridge since i run more than just titans, (elderscale etc) has won me games being able to flip it up for a summoners pact or a Wurm against RDW, i love it in this deck.

Yes i have thought about adding another tolaria west in, im still tweaking the mana base but it runs very smoothly as of now, ive actually played afew mirror matches against the Hive Mind won, and won 2-0 and 2-1.

Thanks for the comments though!

How does it work with the two Amulets? Can you tap the land between the triggers?

Yes, with 2 amulets in play the triggers stack separately and you can tap the bounce land 2x before you have to choose which land to bounce back to your hand

Hmm ... don't get me wrong, I love elderscale wurm, but why not bring avenger of zendikar or budoka gardener along?

Elderscale simply ends games, RDW cant deal with him, Twin if resolved cant deal with him unless they have 3 bolts in hand (unlikely) twin can beat avenger, and avenger is sometimes to slow cuz i can play elderscale with 2 lands only if i have a summer bloom. Just not as strong.

And Budoka Gardener? Same reasoning, right?

You are looking for as much power/toughness and trample for 8 mana. Basically, if this monster is dropped on turn 2, you want the game to be pretty much over. And honestly, Elderscale is perfect for that.

I do have some pretty funny suggestions for Glittering wish though:

Perfectly Reasonable:
Wheel of Sun and Moon = Game over for mill that forgot to bring removal
Any of the Guild Charms ....
Legion's Initiative ... to dodge incoming board wipes if they ever occur.
Glimpse the Unthinkable (or more importantly, Dimir discard) = that's just plain cruel

Less Reasonable:
Lasav, Dimir Mastermind = speaking of cruel, this is for when you opponent manages to kill your primeval titan or elderscale wurm. Or if you just can't resist stealing your opponent's deceased Student of Warfare and killing them with it. :)
Aurelia, the Warleader = if you REALLY want to make a point of steamrolling a dude ...
