Deck Description

Based on vaan104's athreos unshackled deck.

Here is the link to original deck - http://www.mtgvault.com/vaan104/decks/athreos-unshackled/

Only changes are that mine is based in Modern instead of Standard, which I think provides this deck with the most potential.

How to Play

Aim is obviously to get six Apostles out in play then, depending on what you need, choose which demon to bring out for either draw bonuses (Harvester of Souls or Rune-Scarred Demon) or damage output (Ob Nixilis, Unshackled).

Ideal scenario is you have Athreos out when you sacrifice your Apostles so that you can bring them back because I doubt your opponent will want to take 18 points of life then bring out your demon and cycle until an eventual win.

Path to Exile is in play to maximise Ob Nixilis' ability plus some control as well as having Teysa, Orvan Scion for token generation (with Xathrid Necromancer as a side board possibility) but particularly for the sacking of the white tokens for further control if need be.

Deck discussion for Sacrifice to Athreos

for modern I would want to use griselbrand and demon of deaths gate

I see the temptation but you wouldnt need it, I feel the key to this deck is deck search (Rune-Scarred Demon) and creature cycling with Athreos/Immortal Servitude.

The damage you would get from Griselbrand and Demon of Deaths Gates is fulfilled by the control you have over your opponent. However, Girselbrand probably is a good addition with the seven card draw ability.

I've really enjoyed your deck idea just thought i'd make another interpretation. Probably going to try and make this one if I can.

The only problem I cant fix without relying on chance is the draw chance of Apostles. I'm still trying to fix that issue.
