Deck Description

***Not my deck***

This is a Winter Void deck designed by my buddy Artemis (Arty). I'm posting it up here with his permission =]

If you are wondering what "Winter Void" means, look at the card Nether Void. Now look at the card Winter Orb. You may begin raging......now.

Deck discussion for Deal with it!

I think the thing I love most about Winter Void decks is that they embody the spirit of Ivan Drago, in that they WILL break you. I'm surprised about it having sixty-one cards, but other than that it's exactly what I'd expect from the fabled Artemis.

I'd love to have a chance to play against decks like this, but alas GA seems to be the Goblin state. I'd love to see how this deals with some of my faster builds, or even better, I'd love to see what happens should I play one of my more suicidal control decks.

61 cards is oddly a trademark of his in a way...Not sure why lol. Breaking someone is exactly what this deck does. Usually after playing it people don't feel like playing another game for a while...

That stinks man, Goblins are pretty boring IMHO, and must be a nuisance for a control player such as yourself.

It's why I started making storm lol, I just kind of got tired of it.

And it's easy to understand why they don't want another game, this deck is brutals.

Makes sense lol. Hey btw what part of GA are you from? And do you have a southern drawl? =]

I'm from Laurens County, and I actually don't have a southern drawl which surprises a lot of people when they hear where I'm from. I've actually been called a purveyor of cheap lies and slander because of it, which kind of shocked me.

Hrm...That's kinda strange lol. But to be honest...I can not comprehend a control player with a southern accent. I have no explanation as to why, but in my mind it just sounds preposterous...

I think it's the association between the accent and being a born and raised redneck, it just makes things seem a bit silly. Like the image of a frat boy playing an Iso-Seek based Extraction deck, it seems off because we're thinking about the stereotypes.

That actually makes a hell of a lot of sense...Arty, for example, is an accountant and always wears a suit. Wumps, on the other hand, looks like the "Manamanah" muppet...

I'd trade them, my mannerisms are compared to Scarecrow... It's not a connection you want people to make when you tell them you want to be a psychologist, and it's admittedly a good deal of why I'm shying away from psychiatry :/

I have understood that you are some kind of a Deck Wizard/King on MTGVault so I'd like you to check out my new deck that I got today! In the description I wrote about a dream game where I could be able to get a 55/42 Apocalypse Hydra with Trample ready to rock on turn 5.

Upon furthen inspection, there's no way this deck is the coolest thing I've seen in a long time, and in no way makes me wish I had the paper and the experience for Legacy.

None at all.

Jesus, would you look at this broken-assed deck. This Artemis cat's got it goin' on.

Nah. In order to qualify, it needs either A) Elesh, or B) Playset of Bone Saw.

It's better than Skinemax porn, for sure.

I hear Nether Void is a bit dry and melts if salted. Undiscovered Paradise is pretty tasty though, when left linger in the Smokestack for a day or two.

The funny thing is, Arty's easily the nicest guy I know. If you knew him you'd have a hard time believing he could make such mean decks =P

I'm curious to know, from Wumps or SWN, how this deck actually plays out on a consistent basis? There are a few issues I have with the land base containing so many situationaly useful mana sources and sources of colorless mana, that I could foresee a decent percentage of hands turning into mana screws.

I've seen him mulligan a few times here and there, but for the majority of the time, the deck puts you so far behind him so fast that even if he gets a little mana screwed, you just can't catch up. Trust me, a turn 1 Thoughtseize followed by a turn 2 Sinkhole/Hymn...even if he only had 2 lands in his hand...it's damn near impossible to recover in time to do anything substantial to him before he locks you down. But in short, I HAVE seen him mulligan occasionally, but much less than you might think. 3 Urborgs make a hell of a difference for consistency.

Too bad all of you can't see the ohh face I made when I saw this. People who find these combos should be in charge of the country rather than the last three half- brained witless wonders we've had.

So yeah I was wondering. Would it be at all possible for, " my favorite deck building smiley face ", to critique my newest creation? The idea came to me while watching Resident Evil with my little brother. So I tried to make a competitive tourney deck that fits the theme of the movie. Here's the link if you got the time
