Deck discussion for Odii Semina

Well I noticed that TheChurchisHere made one of these and mentioned yours in it. I've been slowly building up the cards for one, but I didn't really have a plan for it. Your deck seems to have a lot of focus to it and kinda inspires me to continue mine. Some cards I would suggest are: Mogg Sentry, Jaya Ballard, Hamletback Goliath, Valleymaker, Hateflayer, Paleoloth, Rapacious One, and Stigma Lasher.

Thanks man, I love EDH almost as much as I love Legacy and our shop's "Tribal". Ulasht is better than I even thought to be honest. You can have him come in absolutely ENORMOUS...

I've actually fallen in love with this little trick with Scrambleverse. I use Ulasht to make an ass-load of Saproling tokens, and then drop a Scramble. My opponents get a bunch of 1/1 Saprolings, and I often get a ton of good (or at least...better) stuff! =D

Wow. I think for the ideas of this deck it's about as good as it can be.

This is pretty awesome dude, and the scrambleverse trick is kind of hilarious.

Hahaha, thanks man, glad you like it. Ulasht is one of those guys who's good...but then becomes insane in EDH =P

The Scramble combo is deadly man. The best thing is, usually they can't do anything about it! =D

Panoptic Mirror + Scrambleverse + Homeward Path = "God DAMN it! You're so annoying, I quit!" :D??

No, really. What's the Scrambleverse combo?

he produces a lot of saproling tokens, and then plays scrambleverse. everyone else gets tokens, he gets good stuff. :|

Ah, only thing I could think of is using it with Zendruu and/or Phage, or in a creatureless deck, but none are the case here.

This definitely came out awesome. I thought about Primalcrux with mine, but I just don't have enough dual lands to pull of GGGGGGin a 2 color deck. I'm with Catullus on this one: "Odi et amo." =D

Was it Catullus who said that? Smart dude =P

Yeah, poem 85, if I remember correctly: "Odi et amo. Quare id faciam, fortasse requiris? Nescio, sed fieri sentio et excrucior." Emo was around even in Ancient Rome, apparently.

Some creatures that would give you draw(if you need any at all) are garruk's packleader and Heartwood Storyteller. Sorry for posting twice, but I'm stoked to see this happen. Everyone I know says Ulasht is a very below-average general, but I knew he could be great.

I don't think he's below-average at all. He just takes more effort to make an EDH for than say, Zur. Not saying all Zur decks are "easy-bake" decks (a term our group uses =P), but the majority are...and there's a few other generals like that.

The best generals are the one's you enjoy using and enjoy building a deck around. My favorite two EDH decks are my Teysa and my Seizan decks, which are both VERY strong, but are also (and more importantly) insanely fun to play =]

Wow, well made deck I gotta say. Ulasht will get absolutely huge from all the R/G creatures you're sporting. I like the Mage Slayer too... nice touch. What about overruns, did we all decide that was over and done with? Last thing I do gotta say is I really really like this deck except... for the 5 PWs.

This is my only little soap box now, but I'm not a big fan of fitting every single PW that fits into the color scheme of a deck simply because they're amazing. I've recently started to categorize them along with cards like Black Lotus and Time Walk. For me (I know, I'm crazy) I appreciate seeing 1 of those in a deck. It's like a "Hey Cool" + "Oh shit" effect that doesn't get old. But when I see 5, I just look at my wallet and a small singular tear drops into the bottoms of its hollow depths... It's depressing.

I know what you mean about the PW's, but I actually chose these 5 because each one of them has multiple uses in the deck.

Sarkhan is a battery for the tokens, and with the +1 ability giving haste, helps me to avoid wipes. His -2 is good for dealing with any big threatening blockers so the tokens can get through.

Garruk Wildspeaker's +1 is unbelievably strong for this deck. Untap a Gaea's Cradle and Vastwood?! Yeah, that's nuts. His -4 IS overrun, and is great for that purpose if I even need it (I often don't). Even his -1 is insane with Doubling Season out.

Garruk, Primal Hunter has a +1 that's the same as Wildspeaker's -1...that's awesome. His -3 with Ulasht and some of the other fatties in this deck is ABSURD, often more than refilling my hand. And his -6? Holy balls man.

Chandra's +1 is kinda dinky, but it's surprised me with its subtle usefulness (such as, pinging their commander back to the Command Zone?). Her -2 is awesome, and is the main reason she's the first version of Chandra to see competitive play. Her -6 is glorious in EDH. Notice it gives you full choice over who to nail with 6 friggin' damage? With the politics of EDH, this is golden.

Koth's +1 makes very strong (4/4!) attackers that I can untap with Wildspeaker if I want. This is nice as a "big guy" among many little dudes to add some threat. His -2 is mana ramp, and a lot of it. That's always nice in EDH. His -5 is amazing for clearing away blockers, holding off attackers (say, after you launch a big attack and have few blockers), and for keeping other Generals at bay.

I get that they're expensive, but I didn't just say "Oh hey, I'll just toss as many PW's in this deck as I can", I actually considered the uses of each one. =]

Nice, I love me some EDH. Ur list could prolly run Green Sun's Zenith or Chord of Calling over like a Lightning Bolt and a Violent Outburst or something.
Check out my new modern list:

Sir. I have never "liked" a deck but, with the inclusion of scrambleverse this is definitely going to be the first not the combo oh no just the fact that someone used scrambleverse for shenanigan's sake is good enough for me. xD One of the main reasons i made a knowledge pool deck just to see what i'd pull from people's library emrakul? everflowing chalice for 0 to cast your emrakul? thank you come again :P

This is a very well built deck considering that the general is Ulasht. I applaud you once more on the excellent deck.

Do you think you could give me suggestions for my EDH deck? The general is Rith, so it's a similar deck except mine produces more tokens. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=234546

Burning-Tree Shaman seems almost counter productive with Ulasht. Create a ton of saprolings and have to be hurt because of it lol.
