The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Deck Description

Standard format vamp deck still needs work... i need HELP!! this will be my first standard deck so im not even sure what will be playing against it... Probably a lot of infect/ramp/control. I would imagine i might have the most problem with a good control deck.

What i'm trying to do here is make the deck fast so that i can get the damage rolling before they really have a chance to get there deck rolling. If i'm missing anything please let me know. Being new to the game i will need a lot of help.

Also i have no clue of what to put in a sideboard suggestions will be appreciated.

Deck discussion for Vamp Standard Need Help

If you plan to do a lot of sacrificing, disentombs are always nice, or even reassemblying skeletons. Although I realize they aren't vamps they are a nice addition to any sac based deck. I think i would also run 4x Feast of Blood and 2x Doom Blades with the ammount of Vamps you are running, ability to destroy all craeatures not just non-black ones and the life gain is always nice. Have you considered Vampire's Bite or Virulent Swipe for spells?

Switching 2X Doomblades with 2X feast of blood is a really good idea especially seeing as i have so many low costing vamps ill hopefully always have 2 on the board... thnx =)

hmm i also like the idea of disentomb, but the only thing is what would i take out for them? Bloodhusk Ritualist?

Ok, well if speed is your goal...you have a few higher casting cost creatures that you may not even get the chance to take advantage of against a faster paced infect or other fast playing standard deck. The skeletons give you a fast playing creature that can be sacrificed and is practically invincible as you can bring it back out. If i was going to take anything out it would be the higher cost creatures for a Standard Deck if speed is your goal. I have a sac deck and i find that the combo of a vamp to sac to + gatekeepers + disentombs/gravediggers is excellent control. try out a few things against your friends and see what is working for you. you can always keep things in sideboard for deck specific instances.

also have you thought about captivating vamps for their immediate benefit when they come into play for all your other creatures?

Have you considered a Malakir Bloodwitch? 4/4 flyer pro-white and with this many vampires you can sap your opponent probably around 8-10 life when you drop her.
And what about Pawn of Ulamog? Whenever you sac a creature you get a token for either mana or another sac.
Just a couple ideas.

Oh, also. Just to add to what I've already said. Yes, I would take out the bloodhusk ritualists for something else. You need at least 2BB to make them at least semi-effective and paying 4 mana for a 2/2 isn't my idea of a good card :( again, just an idea.

I just created a profile today, after seeing your post and wanted to post my decks for ppl to build upon or comment on.
If you'd like you can take a look at my Vampire deck; It hasn't lost a game yet, was made about 1 month after zendikar was released. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=124718
It has gone great against land destruction, infect, wheenie, theme based decks... Due to the control and creature removal + creature damage. Usually my opponents are killed before 6th turn if you're ruthless and never hold off on attacks and creature removals; ie: hold Gatekeeper Malakir in your hand until your opponent plays a nasty creature that has protection from spells or colors, while using feast of blood or urge to feed to kill off creatures while healing/buffing your own creatures.

Comment on my deck if you'd like aswell, I have limited resources for cards and I dont like to purchase cards online; so I'm sure I could run 4 of a kind instead of all those single creatures (the high costing creatures are for the rare occassion where the opponent just doesn't want to die)

Ok so i took out the Bloodhusk Ritualist just because they didnt seem to make much since in this deck... So i took 2 of them out and added to disentomb. that way i can roll into sacrificing some of my other creatures such gate keeper so i can kick him again when he comes out or any other vamp really if kalastria is out.

The key to a fast vampire deck is having small guys hitting for damage every turn... I would reccomend dropping: Bloodghast, Butcher of Malakir, Viscera Seer, Anowon, the Ruin Sage, Disentomb. Throw in more guys like Vampire Lacerator and Guul Draz Vampire. If you want ideas, check out my rediculously fast vampire aggro deck, Vampire Blitzkreig
