Playing with Heartless summoning means you have to play intelligently in order to maximize counter drops. Do not play fathom mage without having a Master Biomancer on the battlefield. Also, do not be worried about ensuring you constantly drop creatures every turn - heartless summoning easily allows you to catch up to your opponents if used right. Being able to drop three creatures later, especially if a master biomancer is out, can easily give battlefield advantage. Corpsejack Menace is important to get out early if you can to double the counter gain. While Take might leave one of your creatures relatively weak - the card gain can be easily worth it, especially if it comes from an evolving creature.
