Deck Description

This is a Grixis control deck that I'm working on for the new up and coming standard meta.

To summarize the deck as simply as possible, it is a spell recovery control deck. Using Kolaghan's Command, Halimar Tidecaller, and Jace, Vyr's Prodigy to recover and re-cast as many spells as I require to control and out-value my opponents.

Being this is Grixis colours gives me a lot of options to deal with aggro, mid-range and also control.

How to Play

The Main deck is comprised of control elements:

Radiant Flames is the replacement for Anger of the Gods since I have access to three mana colours.

Halimar Tidecaller is used to as recursion for Ruinous Path and Scatter to the Winds, as well as a 2/3 body for 3 on top of this ability is "just good value".

You can even use Kolaghan's Command to retrieve a Tidecaller or Jace to continue the cycle of retrieving and re-using your spells.

Crux of Fate serves the purpose of a mid-late game boardwipe, and is just as useful for Esper Dragons as it is against iit.

I prefer Read the Bones over Dig in this deck since we're going to be working with our graveyard a lot, I don't think we want delve in here. Also Read the Bones sees 4 cards as opposed to the new Converge card, which sees a max of 3. I would really like to get Instant speed draw in here but I'm not sure which card fits properly.

Ob Nixilis is just an overall value card. Draws you cards and removes creature when necessary. Regardless of which matchup, resolving Obby should be pretty good.

Sarkhan? Yes, Sarkhan. He is a wincon that also dodges our own boardwipes as well as our opponents. Thats the reasoning behind this pick.

And I think that's about it.

Let me know if you have any suggestions!
