Colossal Might and Double Cleave would only make the Elder 8/6 with trample and double strike, still pretty awesome though.

thunder-thrash elder has devour 3, thus sacrificing 3 creatures give it +9/+9, plus +4/+2, plus it's original 1/1, that equals 14/12
untill you run in2 a terminate a doom blade a path a celstial purge or yes a fog effect. its quick but the devour effect just isnt that good. it puts all your eggs in one big kill me basket. but hey if it goes off owie lol
Yes, I understand the many problems, but it is only turn 4, possibly turn 3 for my opponents if i went first. This means they probably wont have the mana to spare to kill it. If i am against a blue deck, gutteral response could also save me.
