Deck Description

I built this deck in response to a growing number of people in my edh playgroup playing black decks built around sacrifice mechanics. There is no real way to deal with most of the offensive type cards (Grave pact, etc.) Giving yourself hexproof/shroud is only a stop-gap measure. The are only two strategies I could devise against this. Prevent them from doing what they do, or kill them first. This deck is built around prevention.

How to Play

Pacify everything, draw cards for doing it, swing to kill with commander damage.

Deck discussion for Can't touch this...

Since you aren't doing much graveyard recursion I'd just run Rest in Peace over Ground Seal. Seal won't protect against non-targeted recursion (Rise of the Dark Realms, Living Death, etc) and once someone disenchants it then it's again back to graveyard playtime. Just exile all the crap with Rest in Peace preventing any and all schenannigans, shutting down stuff like Aethroes, Glissa recursion, etc. Oh yeah, and since it replaces put to a graveyard with an exile effect it won't trigger Grave Pack if Sigarda isn't out for whatever reason :)

Aura of Silence cripples other people (oracle text is all opponents) and if you need to you can sacc it to kill an artifact or enchantment.

Any reason you're running Sunlance over say Swords to Plowshares or Path to Exile? Sunlance won't kill anything indestructible or with a power of 4 where as Swords or Path deal with it all.

If you're swinging for commander damage find a slot for Battle Mastery and Ancestral Mask.

Oh, Martyr's Bond would be amazing if you're facing a bunch of sacc decks. You won't be forced to sacrifice stuff, but when anything of yours does for whatever reason each of your oppoents will have to sacrifice a similar permanent . . . which will trigger a Grave Pact or Dictate of Erebos or whatever making the other people besides you sacrifice something else. In a four player game if you have a Martyr's Bond out and there's just one other Grave Pact in play anything you lose could take out another seven permanents they control.

Karmic Justice works similarly, though it only hits one person.

Still, fight fire with fire.

I run ground seal mostly because of Enduring Renewal. Rest in Peace would exile creatures that I could put in my hand. Replacing Sunlance is a good idea. Thanks!
