Deck discussion for Mono Blue Talrand

I would Replace: 3 Talrand's Invocation with 3 Counterspell
2 Index with 2 Redirect
2 Negate with 2 Spell pierce
4 Deliver of secrets with 1 Sky summoner and 3 snap-caster mage

As a start, see how that works.

You don't have to mate, It's just what I would do, cheap counters after counters ... get 2/2 drakes out.

I don't want more than 3 sky summoners since they're legendary, and I would be more likely to add redirect to the SB rather than swap out something MB. Snapcasters would no doubt be a great addition, but I just don't feel like dumping the cash into this deck for them right now. I also feel that as long as I can get some early drakes out then I won't need to worry as much about flashing spells back. Also, the Delvers are fine; since there are 23 instants and sorceries in the deck, he has a great chance to flip at any time. Also, I would love to add counterspell, but I'm using this deck in standard. Thanks for the feedback though! I'll consider some of the changes.

No worries man, I'm just a bit of a counter fiend. Probably the best cards in the game.. so why not use em?
If your wanting cheap counters, Ebay 4 x spell pierce and 4 x counterspell. probably be around a tenner and they go along way.

You're right; they are pretty awesome. I wish Spell Pierce and Counterspell were Standard legal though; I would definitely use them then.

Looks really good. Pumping out a lot of drakes will probably scare anyone. Have you thought about Think Twice over Thoughtscour? It costs one more but it also has flashback which means more drakes.

I actually considered it for quite a while lol. I'm still debating on whether more drakes or stronger pike would be better; basically Think Twice vs. Thought Scour :p
