Shorecrasher Elemental and Harbinger of the Tides made me want to have another go at Master of Waves. Target is to create a modern deck built around Master of Waves for under $50.
Embodiment of Spring and Vortex Elemetal are one drops to get things going with the bonus of being elementals so they can actually swing once Master of Waves arrives. Embodiment of Spring is mostly an early body blocker to give you time. Vortex Elemental can become a removal spell for you later game if needed.Tidebinder Mage and Harbinger of the Tides give you UU devotion two drops that both also have some control capability. Tidebinder's is very situational, but she's there for devotion and that is just a bonus. Harbinger's bounce spell gives him some purpose even if you've drawn him past his point on the curve.Shorecrasher Elemental is a UUU devotion three drop, that is also an elemental that will boost from Master of Waves, and he can protect himself in a way. This dude was meant to be in a deck with Master of Waves.Dictate of Kruphix gives a UU devotion three drop, not maxed but good. It also gives card draw to get you to Master of Waves if you don't have him yet. It gives the opponent draw too, but no risk no reward. Hope you beat them to dominating board presence.Master of Waves nuff said.Torrent Elemental is a finisher. He gets some boost from Master of Waves, but his main purpose is to clear a path for your tokens to swing. Negates and Dispels are in here to protect the board from a mop up once you have all the water splashed out.
