I would really like to build a deck around Battlefield Thaumaturge. I currently have three concepts I'm working on virtually to see which is the best bet to buy for and build. Lagonna-Band Trailblazer - My one drop heroic of choice because she can help stall to give time to hit heroic triggers.Battlewise Hoplite and Phalanx Leader - The two drops that either give scry or pump everyone.War-Wing Siren - A little flying for the deck.Battlefield Thaumaturge - The man.Launch the Fleet and Glimpse the Sun God - Single white heroic triggers for everyone. Just use Glimpses the Sun God to tap your own dudes after the declare attackers step while also tapping all of their blockers. Launch the Fleet, hey free tokens with that trigger.Phalanx Formation - Heroic trigger with some battle trickery value.Ajani's Presence - Same as above, plus board wipe protection.Aerial Formation - Heroic trigger pus hop dudes over blockers.Triton Tactics - To help stall. Target Lagonna-Band Trailblazer and War-Wing Siren for solid stall blocking. As a bonus, heroic trigger.

Made some tweaks based on recommendations from Bellz76 over on the ThauMASSturge version of the build. Add a playset of Icy Blast for full Thaumaturge abuse. Added Triton Fortune Hunters to get a card draw engine that felt like it fit the heroic slant. Finally, a couple Feat of Resistance for direct protection and counter pump up.

You also might want to run a few Ordeal of Thassa- it's a staple to the Tom Ross u\w heroic that draws cards when it pops... and I don't think the War-wing Siren is necessary- since you've got 8 spells to get blockers out of the way. That would open up the spot for the Ordeal.

This deck needs some more land... at least 22. And I think this build may be better than the token build. It has more early drops and lots of instants to protect the BT....
Yeah, the more I look at the token shell the more it looks like it can only work on a perfect shuffle. I think the only way to make the token shell work might be to actually push it more towards the heroic build and use Vanguard of Brimaz as a token spewer with maybe Eidolon of Countless Battles instead of the Seraph as the benny of the tokens.To get this build to 22 land I'm debating between dropping Phalanx Formation or trimming Icy Blast and Glimpse the Sun God down to 3 ofs.
Yeah, I was thinking the Vanguard too.... hmm... and I think the Phalanx Formation could be cut as the lowest impact to the deck concept. But they are good surprise cards... not sure.
