Deck Description

YEAH, yeah the mana base, I know, I know, but I got no fetches. Well, I could play 2 here.

So then, after Mono Black, Mardu, Black Death Cloud and Loam I came around to BW pox after all. Would you believe it? Yet another pox deck from me. Again, I think many lists are quite flawed and unrefined, but much more importantly, I think they are positioned much, much better than any pox-inculding alternative due to being fully capable of beating both Jace, everything that tries to swoop in under him, Karn who towers over him and Bloodbraid/midrange decks alike. And Treasure Hunt, never forget Treasure Hunt.

Rain of Tears is what I am currently trying out, it seems better than Mana Tithe and until I find that I need more removal I won't cut it. And if I find in testing that I have an orgasm after I topdeck it after I just cast a death cloud and my opponent is hanging onto that last land like a hair to a biscuit, then I won't ever cut it.

Bob is necessary, as we don't have too many high impact cards and incremental advantages need to be abundant to stack up enough to trample over opponents. Bob makes sure we draw them. Plus it's bob! You aint lived till they went second, got poxed on 2, then Bobbed on 3.

How to Play

Orzhov pox is somewhere between 8rack and control. It is grindy and resilient, has about 6 flexible slots and its main focus is on resource denial in a long-ish to long drawn out game. Think of it as a slower jund. Or just don't think about it, just play it.

This build tries to beat Tron which is quite the common sight in my meta, as well as yours, if not please contact me so that I can move to where you live. That's the reason for Rain of Tears. Death Cloud seems like a no-brianer to me, casting that and either getting back two Bloodghasts or having a walker on board is called "winning the game". The rest is as standard as it gets really. Good cards, 2for1s, disruption of all kinds, value engines and lands. The idea is simple, the gameplay is not.
