Pauper pox babeh! Balls to the walls attrition has entered the format and appears to be here to stay! The deck is essentially just Golgari Gardens without Avenging Hunter. I don't particularly care whether this is more optimal given the current metagame, but it does seem that way to me. You don't need the initiative. You don't need to win even, you just need to not lose, this deck does that better, much better in fact.More rats and more campfires make for a more defensive strategy that can, strange as that is to say, even beat turbo fog with how the sideboard is calibrated. It also cannot be overstated how good Crypt Rats is in pauper. The card is the only boardclear that is, barring Ulamog's Crushers, unconditional.
