Deck Description

The deck is a control deck akin to the tortured existance builds that are my favorite pauper decks. The idea is quite simple in nature yet very complex to both build and play properly.

I tired to improve the consistency of the so called Bugs&Pigs decks of old by adding Trinket Mage, allowing for easy access to Sylvok Lifestaff which is a big part of the strategy and also letting us grab removal or gy hate after sideboard, I've also added artifact lands just so we have a land to grab. And finally I decided that since Grim Harvest is the most important card in the deck I might as well put in one more.

Trinket Mage is a Borderland Ranger, a Phyrexian Rager, and a Brindle Shoat all in one card. It, and the 7 other ways of fetching lands allow our extremely mana hungry deck to run a measly 22 lands.

NOTE: I am not sure whether 3 Fumespitters isn't one too few. I am also not sure on the correct number of spiders.

How to Play

You have Fume Spitter, Crypt Rats, Mulldrifter and Sakura-Tribe Elder as the creatures that die at will. Once they die you make sure you have 3 mana up and you harvest them back.

This either clears the board, draws cards, gives threats, kills creatures or gets you lands, with a Sylvok Lifestaff it also gives you life.

Tragic Slip and Chainer's Edict are the removal spells of choice becasue the slip is always on, making it AMAZING and we go REALLY high in terms of mana so... Chainer's Edict.

Crippling Fatigue was a late addition to the deck aimed at improving the delver matchups as well as the izzet blitz matchup (though those are practically the same). The card is another 2for1 and a great tool for the early-ish game. It semi-fixed the problem with flying creatures not being stall-able by lifestaff blocks leading towards crypt rats.

Krosan Tusker is great for getting lands and being a threat later, Deep Analysis is amazing as the flashback cost is greatly reduced by the fact that we have Sylvok Lifestaff.

EDIT: I decided to cut Deep Analysis as it was very sow and the deck needed more ways to survive and get to the late game in which harvest and mulldrifter will provide enough card advantage.

The problems this deck should face would be mana problems ofc and very fast aggro decks are bad as well, anything that just tries to kill you asap will likely succeed as you spend your early turns trying to establish a staff-harvest-dude combination.
However both tribe elder and trinket mage will slow aggro down a bit and so will your 11 removal pieces and Fume Spitters so it usually comes down to draws.

Your late game engine plus all your deck thinning from your creatures mean that you can only lose the late game against the most dedicated Tortured Existance and Acid Trip decks
