Deck Description

this thing is pure evil
ive been winning by crippling control left and right

i dont like to play combo because if the opponent plays extraction you pretty much lose (side note this deck eats combo)

favorite plays are:

T1 thoughtseize
they resp with brainstorm hiding away 2 cards they dont want removed so i remove the 3rd most valuable
I resp with surgical extraction removing brainstorm and shuffling away the 2 cards they wanted to keep safe (ive left ppl with all land hands turn 1 on several occasions)

stifle to counter fetchlands or wastelands activated abilities (basically 1cmc sinkhole)

the perfect ratio of fetchlands and dual lands, no i have NEVER ONCE had a problem getting BBBB for obliterator in a 3 color deck

(the camel in the maindeck are actually baleful strix, apparently mtg vault dosnt have the card in their database, they used to be vampire nighthawk for more damage but im testing the styx for lower mana cost and card advantage from the draw, card advantage in a control deck has been panning out well for me)

been tinkering with the sideboard allot, its kinda just a jumble right now

also ive been toying with the extremely controversial strategy of not running 4 Fow because if i dont have a throwaway card its just dead in my hand

Deck discussion for pro tuor UBW control

its nice to see a decent deck on the vault
lookin pretty good. so much disruption, these numbers are really tight also, i can tell you put alot of thought into this.

i might wanna play +3 brainstorm over the top, as it can be kinda mana intense and slow sometimes.
theres not too much i would change here.
the creature seem a bit slow. maybe play baleful strix over nighthawk? its a lil bit faster and has that built in cantrip effect which is awesome.

perish is a great side card for maverick and rug/bug decks you might wanna think about. massacre is another good one for maverick and stoneforge

i play top over brainstorm even though top is slower because you can top every turn and you can snap a fetchland when you dont like your top 3 and divine a new top 3 making a great card search mechanic

considered replasing gatekeeper with the stix quite a bit but never the nighthawk, makes sense though you have a very good point, im just hesitant because i do quite a bit of damage to myself with the fetchlands, thoughtseize and surgical extraction

and yes my creatures are always realy slow, i usually just play discard, land destruction and counter spells the first 4 turns then when ive reduced them to nothing i play creatures which also double as great creature removal, so much synergy

yeah for sure, in this deck i can see top being very powerful. >:D

maybe do some testing with the strix instead of the gatekeeper? im even thinking squeezing 3 or 4 strix in might be worth while. but like i said before these numbers look wicked tight, so im not sure what else besides gatekeeper you could switch.

one thing i didnt notice before were the darkslick shores. are you playing those just to help with obliterators casting cost? cuz that might actually be pretty tech, haha.

wicked deck though.
