Deck Description

My first aggressive combo deck consisting entirely of vampires! This deck has alot of synergy amongst cards and works on the premise that, as creatures die and enter the graveyard, other cards get stronger.

Bloodghasts attack and then die (by blocking cards or by vampires sacrificing him) which then allow the Kalastria highborns to deal 2 dmg to the opponent and you gain 2 life. Bloodthrone vampires get stronger by +2/+2 when creatures are sacrificed (until the end of the turn). Viscera Seers provide an easy way to sacrifice creatures and allow you to scry 1 on your library. The Blade of the Bloodchief equipment costs 1 to cast and 1 to equip and permanently adds two +1/+1 counters to the equipped vampire when ANY creature is put into any graveyard!

Bloodghasts return to the battlefield when a land is played, allowing your vampires to grow stronger each time this creature dies and then returns from the graveyard.

The Nighthawk Scavengers have flying, lifelink, deathtouch which allow you to kill heavy hitters, flyers and regain life.

12 cards in this deck, ranging from planeswalkers, instants to "player sacrifices a creature card" are used to efficiently remove any opposition on the battlefield.

This is an aggressive, no nonsense, deck that operates on very little mana and allows you to efficiently destroy an opponents deck starting as early as turn 1.

How to Play

Turn 1:
- Play a Swamp
- Play Blade of the Bloodchief

Turn 2:
- Play a Swamp
- Play Bloodthrone Vampire

Turn 3:
- Equip Blade of the Bloodchief to the Bloodthrone Vampire
- Play a Swamp
- Play Bloodghast
- Attack with the Bloodthrone Vampire and during combat:
- Sacrifice Bloodghast to the Bloodthrone Vampire to give it +2/+2 until end of turn and 2 +1/+1 counters making it a 5/5 (base 3/3).
- If the opponent blocks and loses a creature, the Bloodthrone Vampire receives another +1/+1 counter from having the Blade equipped.

(Alternatively - don't sacrifice the bloodghast in turn 3 and keep it for Turn 4 where you can attack with it, sacrifice it if needs be, then play a land to return it to the battlefield so you can sacrifice it again! You have lots of choice and options!)

Turn 4:
- Play a Swamp (the Bloodghast returns to the battlefield)
- Play Sorin, Imperious Bloodlord
- Activate Sorin's +1 and sacrifce the Bloodghast to deal 3 damage to an opponents creature (or the player).
- The Blade of the Bloodchief sees 2 creatures dying and adds 3 +1/+1 counters to the Bloodthrone Vampire who's now a 6/6.

Turn 5:
- Play a Swamp (the Bloodghast returns to the battlefield)
- Play Kalastria Highborne
- Sacrifice the Bloodghast either to Sorin's +1 ability or to the Bloodthrone Vampire.
- Pay the 1 black swamp and leach 2 life using Kalastria Highborn's ability.
- The Bloodthrone Vampire gains 2 more +1/+1 counters
- Cast a cheap removal spell (e.g. Go for the Throat) killing an opponents creature. The Blade of the Bloodchief triggers again giving another +1/+1 counter to the Bloodthrone Vampire.

It gets pretty scary pretty quickly...

Deck discussion for Mono Black Vampires

This is a pretty good deck i like the idea you have, vampires are always fun to play with.

My recommendations for this deck would be to take out Guul Draz Vampire and Bloodlord of Vaasgoth, if your just running one of them than its not really worth doing just takes up space if anything. Cards i recommend could be Basilisk Collar and equipping it to Vampire Hexmage: a first strike, lifelink, deathtouch creature is just torture and can easily add creatures to the graveyard to boost creatures with blade of the bloodchief. Im personally not to fond of Vampire Lacerator but since you are gaining life do to your Kalastria Highborn and Nighthawk its not that bad.

Other cards i recommend maybe looking into are Vampire Nocturnus, Child of Night, Vampire's Bite, Feast of Blood, and Urge to Feed. Urge to feed can easily boost your creatures like crazy!! Target creature gets -3/-3 until end of turn. You may tap any number of untapped vampire creatures you control. If you do put a +1/+1 counter on them. Just picture the damage you could do with that card, to boost your creatures with counters and your vampire with Blade of Bloodchief gets +3/+3 counters at once!

I run vampire decks also if you would like to check it out and feel free to comment on it.

Really appreciate the comments and feedback dude !!!! I haven't given this deck much love lately as I've been busy rejigging all my other mono coloured decks to be standard. This contains a lot of zendicar and non-standard cards... so it does need a bit of love (although not technically legal at FNM).

Thanks again for the feedback!! Your input is invaluable!
