How to Play

This deck is unfourtunately very fragile. I run a lot of unlikely cards in it and although it does give me some trouble, it is very, very fun to play. I've won a couple tournaments with this deck (well, splitting at top 4, but out of probably 32-33 people), but isn't a tournament deck. This deck loses to removal, card efficiency, and some ramp decks.
First of all, i know what you're thinking; "why does he run garruk?"
There are 2 reasons why i run him: his +1, untap two lands and his -4, overrun. And sometimes i've even used him for he 3/3 beast token, because of the lack of creatures that i use to block. PLUS, if you really needed an overrun, you just pay four, use your +1 and he's like a suspend card, except you have the option of keeping him out for longer, and options are always good when it comes to magic, right?
It is a pretty well-known issue that infect creatures are way too expensive, with only a couple exceptions, such as the Phyrexian Vatmother. And yet this is another reason why i decided to run Garruk, because his +1 is invaluable to the deck.

Secondly, you're probably wondering why I'm only running Tempered Steel. White is what i considered the splash color up until recently. Instead of tempered steel, i would run Spirit Mantle, which should be in the sideboard. I'm not sure if i like Tempered Steel in the deck though. I always seem to have issues getting it out there, but without Garruk, it would probably be much harder to do it.

Another thing you may be puzzled by is my lack of removal. Now in my original deck, i did run 3 Doom Blades instead of all the Phyrexian Juggernauts, i had only run one. However, I think that Dismember is better because it gives you more flexibility with your mana pool which is always limited.

I don't know why, but i also get a lot of heat for running Plague Myr. In my opinion, that's the best card in the deck! It's saved me many times, when i needed Garruk, or i needed to pop a Dismember that they were completely not thinking about when i was tapped out. He just allows you to put pressure on quickly, which is what you need in this deck especially.

Necropede is a good card in my opinion, but i sometimes sub it for Vector Asp, and even more rarely, Corpse Cur. It allows for at least some card efficiency, as limited as a -1/-1 counter can be.

Ichorclaw Myr is my second favorite creature in the deck. Even when attacking un-buffed, he discourages blockers more than i've ever seen, the +2/+2 ability really makes them second guess themselves, and understandably so.

While he's no Skitheryx (is that how you spell it?), phyrexian juggernaut has actually won me some games before that went WAY too long. He's not your win condition, but he does apply more urgency and pressure, isn't too hard to get out (with Plague Myr and Garruk).

As far as spells, i think i might've not been running 60 cards in it, maybe a little bit more. I used to run Mighty Leap before, but i think that Mirran Mettle is better, although giving a 1/1 +2/+2 and flying might be better because they can't just block that same 1/1 whose getting +4/+4 with their Llanowar Elf. Plus, there is that chance that they don't get +4/+4 and only get +2/+2. And, of course there is the bonus of it cost less and it being in your main color. I suppose it is up to personal preference.

Unholy strength is an incredible card for infect, once again, in my opinion. +2/+1 is great, i have gotten suggested to run Dark Favor instead, which is better in some ways but less in others. Once again, it's personal preference.

Apostle's blessing serves as a counter to removal as well as protection, and actually getting in there and doing some damage. It was kind of a toss-up between this and Stave Off. I had before decided to run Apostle's Blessing just because it was phyrexian mana and a colorless, so you could play it without a white mana.

*Note- My sideboard section isn't my sideboard, it is all the cards that i had considered using.

And again, guys this is not meant to be a tournament deck. It was just an idea that i thought might be cool to test out. Please do not come on here amd post comments about how bad this deck is, because i don't really care, if it is fun to play then its a good deck to me. If you have improvements and suggestions however, I want to hear them! I'm only 14 and i have much to learn, thank you!
