Deck Description

Sideboard is still a work in progress.

Since there aren't any good sweepers other than Anger of the Gods for control now, this deck attempts to maintain control with efficient creatures (Brimaz and Prognostic) and a large suite of efficient removal. Prognostic Sphinx can block Stormbreath and Sarkhan, both of which I think will be big players in the new Standard. Disdainful Strike should also allow you to counter ramp decks while providing cheap counters for long games.

The cards that I'm not sure about are Last Breath and Stoke the Flames. For Last Breath, it hits Rabblemaster and Courser, and you can use it on a Brimaz Token that is chump blocking if you are really desperate so it isn't completely dead. Stoke the Flames is in there as a finisher and to hit bigger threats like Stormbreath, Brimaz, or Courser.

Deck discussion for Jeskai Control

Updated this deck quite a bit. Prognostic felt to slow. Full set of End Hostilities because the midrange matchup was so difficult. Stoke's mana cost seemed a little high for the effect because the deck is so creature light.

I found that Circle of Flame in sideboard works very well with any fast aggro creature decks such as fast white and black creatures and mono red aggro/burn. It doesn't stop then all out but, slows them down.

Thanks. Circle of Flame seems a little situational, but it might be a good fit for the SB if my meta is very aggro heavy. If I was going to swap it out for something, it would probably be for Nyx-Fleece Rams, which also do a pretty good job of clogging up the ground. The Rams are also handy if I run into any burn decks, but I haven't seen many of those lately.

Give it some time my FNM they are starting to pop up more and more. It's easy to run, cheap, and very affective. I mostly been running a Green, Red, Black decks mostly based on quick creatures and planeswalkers and still it struggles against aggro red from time to time found out the best cards putting them to a halt are Circle of Flames and Hornets Nest but, be careful Hall of Triumph has been seeing some play in there sideboards to step over Circle of Flames.
