Deck Description

Oh, well, another dragon control deck... Wait, are those Grixis colors?

I was inspired to build this deck after I had a look at some Standard Dimir control decks and thought about how they could be augmented with red burn. Kolaghan and Silumgar are a perfect pair, so I said "Why not?" and built a deck around them. I built it on somewhat of a budget (Thus no Ugin and no fetchlands) but it still has enough of the popular Standard cards to be a somewhat competitive deck.

NOTE: This was created BEFORE MooCow's oddly similar "Flames of Control" deck.

How to Play

This deck is played just like any other dragon control deck, and is very similar to Esper but with a splash of red rather than white. 26 lands means you will rarely ever have a problem with mana, but unless you're holding a dragon and can cast it, it's best to hold up whatever mana you have. All normal control principles apply, and there's nothing particularly special about this deck. The best way to learn it is to play it!

Deck discussion for Grixis Dragons

Thank you for leaving some suggestions, except where are the polluted deltas and bloodstained mires? Those I personally love and I actually did not look at any other Grixis control decks, I made mine myself, overall great deck!

I didn't either, this was a complete homebrew. Like I said elsewhere, I avoided fetchlands because I can't afford them. Thanks for the feedback!

If anything I think you should be playing 4x Polluted Delta and 4x Bloodstained Mire by cutting some temples and basics. 2 Self-Inflicted Wound in the S/B may come in handy as well.

I avoided fetchlands because I can't afford them. Self-Inflicted Wound seems like it could be quite handy though!

It's mainly for Dragonlord Dromoka and Dragonlord Ojutai. That Ojutai is a big pain in the ass.

I find that Silumgar, the Drifting Death really stops Ojutai in his tracks if you can get him on the battlefield (Key word IF). Self-Inflicted Wound might be a bit more reliable
