The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

This deck is focused primarily on getting big angels out that help each other and make you gain a ton of life without having to do much. There isn't much else to this deck. Big angels and big life totals.

PLEASE NOTE: I do not, and will not, use any cards that were created after Scourge. I only use cards that existed prior to the start of Mirrodin. (I know this is stupid but it's my one and only rule.)

Any suggestions would be great.

How to Play

Ideal starting hand:

1 Urza's Incubator
3 Plains
1 Serra's Blessing
1 Serra Angel
1 Noble Purpose

Turn 1: draw a land, play a land.
Turn 2: draw a land, play a land, play serra's blessing.
Turn 3: draw any card, play a land, play urza's incubator.
Turn 4: draw angelic page, play a land, play angelic page (oracle text makes it count as an angel) and serra angel
Turn 5: draw angelic chorus, play a land, play noble purpose
Turn 6: draw a land, play a land, play angelic chorus.

Basically now you gain life when you play an angel, when you attack with an angel, and when you block with an angel, with zero downside because all your creatures have vigilance. You can also at this point play any angel in that deck, with the exception of Reya.

Deck discussion for Casual Angel Beatdown

The only thing that I think you could to to salvage this deck would be removing your baseless hatred of all of the amazing cards printed in the past 10 years. Otherwise, this deck sucks. I did the sample hand 6 times, and the only time I got a creature out before turn 4 was when I played Angelic Page. Even with the dream hand that you showed above you couldn't get any creatures out before turn 4. This is assuming that nobody plays any countermagic, creature removal, or lockdown effects. In Vintage you'd have lost by the time you landed a creature, and even if you hadn't, your opponent would use Force of Will on your Urza's Incubator and Swords to Plowshares on your creatures. Same goes for Legacy. Trash this deck, or add some newer cards.

first of all, love the hatred. made me smile :) second of all, if I was playing competitively, don't you think I would add cards from newer sets? third of all, you pretty much boiled down your argument to one specific blue/white creature hater deck that would pretty much ruin any beatdown deck with no countermagic. fourth of all, where are the suggestions? please post something a little more productive or constructive the next time you decide to rip on a deck.

First, not just Force of Will and Swords to Plowshares wreck this deck. The stuff in this deck dies to black removal, green flying hate, and even red direct damage hits the smaller angels. Second, if you meant for it to be casual, you should have said that somewhere. I mean, it says Vintage in the title, so I assumed that you were goin to be using it in Vintage. Third, the reason that I didn't post anything constructive was that this deck has the amazing angels from the timeframe that you want to work with. It just that those cards are not as good as the cards from today. If you want good suggestions for white angels or white lifegain, I'll list you them below. Sorry that they are almost all less than a decade old.

Lifegain:
Serra Ascendant
Tune-Tail, Kistune Ascendant
Felidar Sovereign (I guess that if you wanted to hate on modern cards you could go with Test of Endurance from Judgement)
Divinity of Pride
Feudkiller's Verdict
Survival Cache
Chalice of Life/Death
Ajani's Pridemate
Celestial Mantle
Martyr of Sands
Archon of Redemption
Rest for the Weary
Elixer of Immortality
Venser's Journal
Solemn Offering
Kaibra Crossroads
Boon Reflection
True Conviction

Angels:
Avacyn, Angel of Hope
Angel of Jubilation
Victory's Herald
Platinum Angel
Deathless Angel
Guardian Seraph
Linvala, Keeper of Silence
Iona, Shield of Emeria
Archangel of Strife
Angel of Serenity
Angelic Destiny (Sort of)
Serra Avenger
Shattered Angel
Twilight Shepherd
Warrior Angel (You can actually use this one)
Entreat the Angels (Sort of)
Decree of Justice (Sort of) (You can use this one too)
Angel of Glory's Rise
Requiem Angel
Luminous Ange
Lightkeeper of Emeria
Emeria Angel
Chancellor of the Annex
Baneslayer Angel
Angel of Salvation

So if you just dropped that stupid rule about not wanting to use cards from this half of the existence of Magic, you would have way more options. What is the point of that rule?

See, Soul's right. Even if you're restricting yourself to JUST old cards (for whatever reason, maybe it is some attempt at boycotting power creep, but w/e) you're missing out on some amazing white cards that you really should be using.
ex:
Land Tax, Mother of Runes, STP, Wrath, Moat, Balance, Orim's Chant, True Believer, Story Circle, Enlightened Tutor.

And don't even get me started on lands. You have fetches available to you, karakas, wasteland, strip mine, etc.

Do you want it vintage legal? Do you want it vintage competitive? See, you're restricting yourself to 'old cards,' but then further restricting yourself to a lousy subset of those cards, there's only so much help we can provide. I mean, even lousy casual decks don't start off with the ideal hand as: 'play a land, play a land' for the first 2 turns.
