Deck Description

Update: 9/17/2017
After some testing it became apparent this needed to focus more on producing saprolings and using them for mana to get going via utopia mycon. It also became apparent it was not producing mana properly at all. I am planing to tweak the lands big time, once that is done I may go back to the old deck listing. I am going to run more tests on this over all, but also some using walking archive, which will provide card draw. Card draw seems necessary for this deck. I may ultimately try and get sage of hours back into the deck, I would prefer him in here. If that happens he would possibly replace ulasht. Kalonian Hydra is useful, but it's high cost makes it slow to get out. Further more, it is not all that necessary given the gilder combo itself.
OUT: 1x Darksteel reactor; 2x Sage of Hours ; 2x Mycoloth; 2x Kalonian Hydra
IN: 1x Utopia Mycon ; 2x Elvish Farmer ; 4x Birds of Paradise

My first answer/actual submission to: The Ultimate Deckbuild Challenge by drakeraenes.
I have many more ideas in mind this is just the start.
With that being said, as usual with one of my decks the sideboard is larger than your normal sideboard mainly to give people more options for play modes.

How to Play

SO. Gemstone array (or druid repository which is not here right now) produces infinite mana. This is achieved by dumping more counters into it via gilder.
Ghave produces infinite saprolings at this point.
Ulasht produces infinite damage and infinite saprolings.
If you have the gilder combo running and you drop darksteel reactor the game ends.
If you have the saproling combo running and you drop eldrazi monument the game probably ends.
You get the idea.
Sideboard provides some other options I was tooling around with for either adding more punch to this or speeding things up. Utopia Mycon provides an additional way to produce infinite mana of any color on top of/or potentially replacing entirely gemstone array. Kept sage of hours for now since it seems like you can still use him via spike weaver.
There are better planeswalkers to be used in that slot for this particular deck, but I need more time researching which ones might be ideal here. For now the original stays it is quite useful after all.

I have a feeling I have barely cracked the surface on how concise this deck could be, and that there is room for alot of improvement.

Deck discussion for Gilder, Saproling Reactor

I am considering another variant which focuses more on abusing oracle vault to put things out.
Also considering an artifact based variant that uses a similar mechanic but puts out nasty artifacts instead of creatures.

I'm not even sure what to say about this. It's a fantastic build to be sure, I just don't know what to say

Appreciate it. I am still wondering about whether equip counts as a spell targeting sage of hours, that pertains more to the broken artifact deck than this one since I have spike weaver for this deck.
Edit: Thanks for the answer deck 2 updated

An update on this deck. I am going to be looking at adding card draw to these decks. There are a couple card's that can do it right now it's just a question of finding the right way to do it.
Most of the gilder based decks could benefit greatly from counter based card draw.

Fathom Mage is an excellent option

In the SB right now I will be testing with it soon. Might take eldrazi monument and the reactor out to get additional slot space but I don't know yet, would be ashame to take them out.
