I have always wanted to try a Mill deck in standard and Phenax gives me the perfect excuse to try! I am not a fan of doorkeeper in a Phenax deck as you have to pay for his Mill ability when potentially you can get bigger Mills with how huge the Wight, Aberration and Nighthowler can get. Lots of tricks can be employed due to the blue colour, triton tactics would love this deck as you can untap and Mill for bigger all for one manner! As Mill is an unfavourable win-con (you are targetting the biggest resource a player has after all) Desecration Demon and Aberration can work as an alternate win con by just plain hitting them in the face.
Start milling and when the big hitters come down start hitting, simples!My sideboard choices were influenced against the problem decks for Mill, aggro and control. against aggro the additional creatures come in, Cloudfin Raptor can get big to help with mill and provide an early drop. Phantasm provides a solid blocker that can produce a high Mill output. Gainsay and Psychic Strike come in against control and the bracers come in against any midrange deck to double up on the milling fun.
