its a burn deck with some good black removal and card draw. pretty straight forward, doesn't rely on a combo.
try to keep a starting hand with two lands and possibly a dark confidant. you can't really keep a bad hand unless your starting hand only has one swamp for your lands... if you have a mountain and no other lands in your opening hand you still may be able to play. you really just need two lands out on the field at any time.
