Deck Description

Behold the horror, a win on turn three without crazy rares. All commons and uncommons. May this be my revenge for being controlled to death from Jace the mindsculpter decks too much. I present the Soul Immolation deck. I dare to boast the fastest reliable win in standard. (ignoring the 2 infect perfect hand draw sheer luck wins)
Comments and suggestions desired!!!

Right, now the fun part first, winning on turn 3.

Turn 1
Lightning bolt or shock, (2/3 damage)
Turn 2
Immolating souleater or Kiln Fiend
Turn 3
Lightning bolt, or Shock x3 (6/9 damage)
1: Attack with souleater, pump him 9 times with your health (10 damage)
2: Attack with kiln fiend, pump him with any and all spells
Either way an assault strobe makes things crazy dangerous for your opponent.

Deck discussion for Turn 3 win no rares!

ok one the long explanation was deff not needed.

other than that this deck seems pretty solid honestly. as for getting mana swamped, just put in some search lands to thin it out. maybe take out burst lightning for another memninte if anything and u might have to take out crystal ball as M11 is about to rotate out.

First: M11 rotates out on the 30th September with the release of inistrad. (I triple checked) so I still think this will be a pain for the current meta game to handle.
And yea, I was simply excited hence the long explanation. I'll shorten it :P

I wanted to have 4 forked bolt but didnt have the last one, so I threw in a burst lightning.
And thanx for the idea of the search lands, but I don't have the pay 1 life ones, and the others are too slow with them coming into play tapped (unless played on turn one)

It is actually one of those ones you can not cast a spell on turn 1, just to have another pump for kiln. Debating a switch of memnites for gitaxian probes. It would pump the kiln and get another card.

You asked me to check it out, and I did. It's good, a lot of direct damage, definitely consistent as far as damage goes. However, for the fastest win in standard, you need to look towards infect. For instance, my R/G pauper infect (posted below) that has a turn 2 win. and requires 5 cards.

T1: forest, glistener elf
T2: mountain, assault strobe, targeting glistener elf, groundswell, targeting glistener elf. Swing with a 5/5 doublestrike infect.

All in all, it's good. I am a fan of pauper decks personally. But I recommend Arc trail in here, just because two damage to one creature makes a big difference.

Thanx for looking. :)
Forked bolt can deal 2 damage to a creature.
Arc trail instead of whipflare, I am debating. I think the whipflare is misplaced here and you make a good point.

Your infect deck requires an awesome hand, mine is a bit more reliable I think (1 of 8 creatures, plus 2 lands, plus burn spells).

I can do the same thing with mono black without new phyrexia. It is hard to get a hand that perfect, so I considered the turn 2 infect win extremely unlikely. And besides against this deck I just kill the elf in response to groundswell. Thanx for bringing your version to my attention, knowledge is power. I'll keep an eye open for a turn 1 infect elf.
My version.
T1: Swamp, vector asp
T2: Swamp, vampire bite/virulent swipe/tainted strike, + mutagenic growth and infect attack. 10-12 infect.

As per your suggestion, the whipflares are being replaced with arc trail. Silly of me not to have done it before.

how are you not running flings?

Well if the creature is killed as I try to pump it, or before turn three then Fling is a dead card. For example against another burn deck, or a black deck. (not to mention the red black decks in my area)

What would you take out for the flings? Shock perhaps and the memnites perhaps?

I'd run black to run tainted strike

Yes, but then you need to run black lands which will make it harder to play all burn spells plus they are less useful (useless?) if your going for infect win. Amusing as a kiln fiend with infect would be... I would maybe attempt it with mono black. Using the soul eater and tainted strike as an interesting backup win condition.
