I think play testing is gonna be the only real way to figure it out. I love the idea of Consuming Aberration, but I can't figure out if he is truly needed. Phanex and Jace might be all you need.

But then again, jace is a five drop as well and results in 10 mill every turn. By comparison, the Consuming Ab/ Phenax combo is faster. Maybe? Consuming Ab couldn't begin tapping until the fallowing turn while Jace gets to work right away.

Could focus on just getting walls out while instant and sorcery milling, then all at once tap all walls for a turn 7 win? Depending on the amount of walls.

Either way, Deck looks awesome man. If I pull some Phenax, I will probably make something like this for some kitchen table fun.

This deck would be gross to play against. Maybe drop 2 walls and throw in some consuming aberrations. Consuming Ab is an exponential mill combo with Phenax.

Ex. lets just say you do some milling and play Consuming Ab as a 10/10. Tap him and Opponent mills 10. Next turn you tap him and opponent mills 20. then the turn after that 40, good game. 70 card mill in 3 turns. Thats not including your walls you may have on the field already, throw those into the mix and it could be game over in 2 turns.

It might be worth running 4 Consuming Aberration.

This runs on some of the same mechanics as my hydra deck. I would suggest dropping most of your artifacts. I say this only because with a deck like this, it is a race to make your hydras large enough to sack and win or swing and win before your opponent can get an upper hand. Tapping five mana to drop a gilded lotus is great for up coming turns but is, in a way, holding you back from dropping something that could be a win condition like Mage Slayer.

Since your playing modern, and you are focusing on corpsejack, I would definitely run some kalonian and primordial hydras. If you can get two or even all three on the field at once, the triggers are absurd. Then Rogue's Passage, Mage Slayer, and Jarad are awesome win conditions that can hit out of nowhere.

Here is my Modern Hydra deck. http://www.mtgvault.com/xreverie8/decks/hydras/

Your deck looks awesome, these are just suggestions that I have found work in my deck.

This is almost Identical to my Dimir Deck aside from a couple cards.

I focus on Paranoid Delusions' Cipher mechanic. encode it on an unblockable creature, then it will trigger Consuming Aberration every time you deal combat damage.

Oh I know its better in theory than actual practice. This deck has potential to be ridiculous, but a lot of my other decks would stomp it. I just thought it would be cool to throw a 9/9 on turn two, even if it doesn't resolve lol.

I don't know what I would drop. I thought Zhur-Taa, but he is your big source of ramp. Since there isn't a lot of ramp in this deck, maybe drop a hydra with an X in its manna cost. polukranos and Kalonian are 4 and 5 drops. Not hard to achieve. I would try dropping 2 mistcutters, you can't afford to drop savageborn, double strike makes him amazing when you consider you could be doubling his counters.

Sideboard the 2 Mistcutters though, in case the Jarad setup isn't working you can always switch it out.

Maybe drop some Give//Take for some rogues passage. Since there isn't a lot of ramp, running 26 lands might work, but that is a lot of lands in my experience and may cause you to mana flood. Give it a try though.

Maybe try switching out zhur-taa for sylvan caryatid if youre having trouble hitting curtain colored mana.

Bioshift is a smart idea. Get a hydra out with corpsejack, your opponent might be okay with it, but play one or two bioshifts out of nowhere and boom, big problems.

I like this deck, good job.
Here is my hydra deck, I love playing this deck.

My only suggestion, since you are running black, would be Jarad-Golgari Lich Lord. Still standard and an awesome win condition when playing hydras. Also Rogues Passage, another great win condition.

I've avoided building a demon deck because I never think they run really well. Shadow born apostle seems like a good idea until you realize you have to cast another 6 to sacrifice for a second demon.

But Shirei really makes me think this deck could run. really well actually. Mind if I clone this deck and make some changes for myself? Gonna Credit you of course.

Yea, Can't thank you enough for the advice. Ordered two Nocturnus online. So I can't wait to break this out for the friends next time. I think it will catch some people off guard.

Thanks for the great feedback. As I went through the changes, I found myself contently saying "Duh, why didn't I think of that"?

I think the deck looks way more solid now, I little heavy at 104 cards but I can't choose anything else to take out. I want to start collecting some of these cards and try my hand a commander.

This deck looks amazing. I've never played commander but decided to take a crack at building a deck. Think you could give me some feedback since it appears you know what you're doing?

This deck looks pretty similar to mine. my suggestions would be to run 4 Nocturnus and 4 Bloodline. Those are the main ones, but if you can run 4 gatekeepers as well. The combination of buffing all your vamps and forcing your opponent to sacrifice it awesome. Anowon take it to a new level.

I absolutely love phyrexian Metamorph! It has so many playable options I might think about playing it in my deck.

This is my deck if your looking for any ideas.

It looked a lot like yours but i recently narrowed it down.

Altered the deck some. lowered the mana curve and focused on bloodline keeper and Vampire Nocturnus for beefing up the other vamps, and gatekeeper/ Anowon for sacrafice.

It runs soooo good and consistent now. turn three and four this deck roars to life. and by 6, 7 and 8, you have either won the game or have your opponent backed against a wall.
