Deck discussion for Melira's monsters, at your service (Standard)

Very nice build particularly for a standard deck. The only cards I feel iffy about is Hex Parasite and Glissa.
They are both great cards but since this deck focuses around Melira you need to keep her safe.

Personally I would rather protect Melira with a few more cards like Swiftfoot Boots, Summoning Trap, Asceticism or Canopy Cover.

Some form of Proliferate may also be handy to help pile on poison counters or -1/-1 counters on creatures left alive by Black Sun or keep tumble magnet going.

Here is a link to my Legacy Melira deck if you are interested.

Either way this is a very solid build.
Good luck with your deck.

I agree that protecting Melira should be handled better and I've got a few boots in my sideboard already. I would've used Canopy Cover but since it's rotating out so soon I decided not to bother because I'd like to use this when Innistrad is around.
Hex Parasites are mainly in for removing Planeswalkers and counters from Monstrosities when Melira's not around but Glissa's another matter so I'd need something to replace her with. I'll have to see whether the new set gives us anything like Canopy Cover which is one of my favourite cards of all time. Perhaps I could use Spellskites but I haven't had luck finding them anywhere... Also Asceticism is a bit too heavy on cmc.
I have Autum's veils in the sideboard and Apostle's blessings as well, so at least point removal can be theoretically countered.

Many thanks for the comments and I liked the Melira + persist theme a lot! Too bad I'm not much familiar with the Legacy format though.

Hah, thanks man! I have to try this out at FNM, but it should work alright.

Also, I think I'm gonna sideboard a couple of Triumph of the Hordes.
