Who doesn't love a good old Stompy deck? Mono Green, relatively cheap and has a couple ways to win, all while smashing face. I make a lot of decks for my friends, this guy came in at about $50 for my boy's birthday. Green is his favorite color and he doesn't have a mono green yet. Stompy usually has Overrun in it, but I like to win on T4/T5. This does a pretty good job of accomplishing that.
Couple options or strategies to play, depending on the draw. Either work the +1/+1 counters via strangleroot geist, scavenging ooze, and experiment one to have a beefier Avatar of the Resolute come out. Or in typical stompy fashion, t1 elvish mystic, t2 leatherback baloth and start kickin some ass.Lots of instants to make your boys bigger for the pounding, wild defiance makes your instants even better or protects against burn. T4'd an opponent with a 18/13 groundbreaker. Board had Elvish Mystic, Leatherback Baloth w/ Rancor, Wild Defiance and then Groundbreaker with Aspect of Hydra. Lots of fun with only 3 forests out.

Would a Timbermare be good in this deck?

I don't think so. The idea is to crank out pain as fast as possible. The only 4 mana cmc card in the deck is Harmonize, in the event the game lasts long enough to get to 4 mana. If, on T4 u have 4 mana and u already have a big ass baloth, timbermare would tap him, which is unfortunate.
