Deck Description

Now that I've actually built my collection a bit more, I've revisted the zombie-based standard deck.

I'm planning on taking this to the next tournament, so any feedback is, as always, greatly appreciated.

Deck discussion for LeZombie 2.0 (standard)

This looks solid for standard. The only thing that bothers me's Rooftop storm..sure its a cool card, but its too slow for such a deck. I'd prolly add more speed and aggro, by throwing in some gravecrawlers to combo with grimgrin and buff 'em with direGcaptains and C-reapers, instead of Unbreathing Horde and Skinrenders.

Rooftop storms could also be replaced by a Diabolic tutors, to fetch thoseEndless Ranks of the dead or Call to the grave.

Been playing lots with standard zombies lately, thus the advice, also zombies need air support, so a couple of removals wouldnt do any harm. (Go for the throat, Tragic Slip, Murder, Doom Blade). I see u got the Drake there but im afraid its not enough.

It's interesting that you don't dig on rooftop storm. I've heard very mixed reactions. Some say that a zombie deck isn't complete wthout it and others say, just as you did, that it is very slow to play. I definitely agree that I need some gravecrawlers. (wouldn't rooftop storm+gravecrawler+grimgrin=instant win?) I'd be ok parting with Skinrender. And I also agree that it could use more removal (i've got plenty of doom blades and murders). I'll find a way to put the tragic slips into the main deck instead of the sideboard.

Rooftop Storm's a possible turn 6 drop, Mikaeus would be the only zombie that would really benefit from it (3BBB), as the other zombies cost less to cast. By turn 6 you've most likely emptied your hand of creature cards, and since you don't have any card draw spells you'll be lifting that 1 card at your drawstep. Having 2 Call to the kindred's already gives u the opportunity to cast zombie spells for free, so I don't see the use for Rooftop Storm tbh. 1 option would be to add 1-2 more Call to the kindreds & 2 Elixir of Immortalities, this way u wont mill yourself out having 1+ Calls on the battlefield. My opinion's based on playing with standard zombies and i've come to the conclusion Rooftop storm doesn't do any good really by the time your able to cast it. Maybe RTR brings out a solution or a way to break the card, otherwise I see it as a non-comptetitive card for standard in its current shape.

my suggestion would be to take out the skinrenders for 2 more cemetery reapers, a rooftop storm for an endless ranks of the dead, the scrapskin drakes for 2 levitation, which gives EVERYTHING flying and finally take out 1 army of the damned and a rewind for 2 more moan of the unhallowed.

LEVITATION! perfect. thanks for the suggestions. I'll definitely take those into consideration. I will for sure be adding 2 more cemetery reapers and levitation.

I'd prolly move Army of the damned over to side, Grave Titans?
