Deck Description

My favorite block in Magic history was Zendikar. I played Vampires but also had a fondness for Elves. After that I enjoyed following Goblins and Minotaurs. I have always been very big on tribal decks and had a lot of fun with them so I was excited to see a new tribe emerging with Khans of Tarkir: Warriors. All of these cards synergize very well together. Chief of the Edge, for example, gives all my warriors +1/+0. Raider's Spoils lets me spend life to draw every time one of my warriors deals damage to a player. So basically everyone is a warrior and they play together pretty well in the early to mid game. Nowadays a lot of decks don't start until the mid to late game so warriors can definitely take them by surprise. If you're looking to make changes I might start with adding cards like Athreos, God of Passage, another Brutal Hordechief, and Sorin, Solemn Visitor. These cards are out of my price range at the moment but I'm also still not sold on if they belong in the deck. I hope you enjoy the deck, please comment below.

How to Play

I go all out aggro with this. One drop 2/1 monsters are hitting the ground pretty constantly and I just swing all out. Once cards get down to beef up warriors the deck is pretty tough to stop. There is some decent removal as well with Valorous Stance, Harsh Sustenance, and Banishing Light. I will pay removal fairly liberally instead of waiting for my opponent to play something larger as with this deck if you haven't won in the early game you may have a tough time. Speaking of the deck slowing down, drawing is what speeds it back up. To that effect I have Raider's Spoils and Read the Bones in the deck. Scry lands could be a useful add as well. Banishin Light is nice because it is a great removal against anything including Planeswalkers but also it is helpful because it counts as a white permanent under your control for Battle Brawler's ability. Timely Hordemate is fun because most of my creatures are low cost and some of them have abilities that trigger when they're summoned. The cards that will finally let you overwhelm your enemy for the kill are Brutal Hordechief and Rush of Battle.
