The name of the game is Mill, which involves library depletion by putting cards directly from a player's library into their graveyard. The problem with Mill has been that it's been too slow, and that people hate being killed by Tarmogoyfs and Goblin Guides because many decks outspeed Mill. But many people forget about one thing: Extirpate, Surgical Extraction, and Haunting Echoes. Against any form of Tempo, Aggro, or Control, you're now able to deplete any and all cards that would be hindering to you, because now your opponent won't draw into them anymore.
