The idea is actually to pitch an Apostle and use Surgical Extraction or Extirpate to thin your deck so hard you can Shelldock Isle Emrakul.The deck is actually surprisingly consistent, and in a pinch after sideboarding can be converted into a more "traditional" Apostle deck.
The ideal hand consists of 1 Shadowborn Apostle, 1 Surgical Extraction (or Extirpate to delay by a turn), and a land (most preferably Shelldock Isle). You always take the draw instead of the play, because the cleanup phase allows you to discard an Apostle for free, and Surgical Extraction at the end of your opponent's turn. This in turn allows for the Shelldock cheating of Emrakul, and the win (keep in mind that Emrakul is cast using Shelldock so the extra turn effect happens). If anything fails, Spoils of the Vault is there to help you search for whatever you need, at the expense of you life total.
