One of the most popular decks on the Pro Tour is the USA (Blue-White-Red) Control deck. This deck was nearly flawless, only able to lose against the fastest aggro and mill decks. The flaw that it had was its use of life-gain, and its life-gain cards such as Sphinx's Revelation took space away in the deck for a more efficient kill mechanic. That mechanic was beatdown, in which it used only 2/1 Snapcaster Mages and 1/3 Augur of Bolases. Because of this inefficient way to win, I just decided to completely eliminate White from this deck, and replace the Snapcaster Mages and Augur of Bolases with bigger, more efficient creatures. This makes for more kill opportunities, and harder (in my opinion) for opponents to remove your threats and and turn the game around.
