remove it from game at end of turn or if it would leave play which means it wouldn't come back with the closet because its leaving play so sorry for bursting your bubble
But it then says return it to play. Even if it is removed :P. So it is doubly removed but then it returns

no because the unearth will remove it from game if it tries to leave the game any other way so unearth removes it not the closet , so the closet cant bring it back because it didnt remove it understand now

Now, if you want something that works kind of like the closet, may I suggest Teferi's Veil: http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=348362It basically lets you keep your unearthed buddies forever since they don't technically leave the battlefield.
I thought phasing out was leaving play then returning the next turn with haste?

the man is right i never thought of phaseing because ive never used it before , when you phase out a creature it dosent leave it is just ignored and if it has any enchantments or counters those stay on the creature as well instead of going away
